yay, first build done! After stressing when first hearing about it, it really is straightforward. Thank you very much for guides/vid links here. Did with Subtank mini kit, right first time, and really nice vape (Pixie's banana custard). Vapour seems to flow much more smoothly than it does with original coil. Have 'clicked' with replacing original coils on heads too, so look forward to doing that. Will save a packet, lol.

TOP JOB kittyvape imho the juice is all the more sweeter when you have built the coil to deliver the vapour.

Nice one, never as hard as people think that it is. thank you *-SARIN-* and you're right! Think it must be that it took a few weeks to settle into vaping itself first, as there was so much to take in and explore.

Kudos to you kittyvape . Coiling and wicking, and mixing your own juice are great ways to improve your vape and cut your costs. If you have any "wishes" for ways you'd like to change your vape (hotter, cooler, more vapour, avoiding dry hits/floods) be sure to come on and ask. I'm sure many of us here would be happy to help out with suggestions.

I was wondering how I could make more vapour while avoiding any loss of flavour. I think I rolled the cotton quite tightly; it was quite solid, rather than as 'fluffy' as the vid showed. Making sure it's really 'fluffy' is better for vapour?

"Fluffy" cotton will wick better. This means it will draw more juice to the coil letting you take more or longer hits or vape at higher power without drying it out and burning your wick (yuckky dry hits)
Dropping your resistance would produce more vapour as well, but try a little less cotton first.
A good tip is to take a piece of cotton about 3-4 cm longer than normal. Roll this 3-4 cm really tight to feed through the coil, then cut it off. t will take a bit of practice to get used to the thickness of the wick you need, but you'll get better and better with more tries.
A good guide is the cotton should be tight enough not to move around easily in the coil, but not so tight that it is difficult to pull through.

When coils start to look burnt like that means it's time to change them? I'd noticed they were slightly touching too, which has probably caused the burning? Switched back to mini for now, as can't redo subtank until later. Also wondering if this from Fasttech is the best buy for cotton: Authentic Muji Rectangle Cotton Wick for RDA RTA RBA Rebuildable Atomizers (140-Pack) 60*50mm

I've been using that same cotton for the last 2 months kittyvape it's very easy to use and I find it gives a good flavour. It should last a good few years as I think I have only used a couple of pads so far

Does the coils glow evenly? Also just fire coil and it will burn crud off. Coils last longer than wick so just fire coil when changing wick
