They say they can't advertise the scheme because it's intended for low income households so why don't they just means test applicants like with prescription meds? Problem solved, they're not exactly helping the low income households if they're not informed the scheme exists.

getting some meds thru the prescription service and the nhs is taking the p*ss i stood behind a chap in our gp s who had taken a taxi to the clinic to ask for a paracetamol prescription ?? paracetamol is 16p or less in tesco?? im supposed to take asprin every day now, I can buy 3months worth for 99p, my gp actually added it to the prescription list as ive paid for a 12 month meds certificate, it would cost the nhs more to administer the prescription for 1 months worth of asprin than it costs me to buy a few years worth..
when medical services are under threat due to cuts and austerity measures is it responsible to take advantage of the system like this

They won't give you Calpol but the NHS generic equivalent. The pharmacist also has to examine the child to determine if they require it. The scheme was designed to take the pressure off of GP's for minor ailments. If you think that you're gonna stock up on calpol for free then you're gonna be disappointed!
