Surely it`s just the numbers that are different, it`s obviously temp controlling but with different numbers isn`t it?

I`ve messaged Yihi to see what they say about the temperature differences, namely with the IPV4 SX330V4S. Be interesting to see what the say.

But with a non perfect connection on the first go robby there was not a setting it didn't scorch the cotton, even after cleaning tightening everything, tweaking the pressure on the 510 mainly and resetting the atty until you get a min reading it was still 180 F over so the min may be around 400 F on the one I had. The second picture was the same atty and coil, a 3 post dripper, I got it to vape OKish with a origenny except for a few partial dry hits, but it went way out of wack over night and need to dro the temp again. Another strange thing was about every eighth time I reset the resistance it read 0.017 ohm, I can't know how typical this is, the vendor said it worked the same as others, they also said they past my info and the second pic to YiHi and not got anything sensible back. This with letsavit experience leads me to believe that maybe my one was not faulty, maybe one of the poorer ones but within YiHi QC standards. But as it's the only one I have tried I ca't possibly know that. With the PWM I notice that even at the lowest temps where it didn't mark the cotton if you fired for 7-8 seconds or more you smell the cotton getting hot. I think this is because of the higher voltages that are used by the PWM and makes the vape different to the DNA even when you set to taste. It was a lot more effort to use than the DNA, part of that is I am used to the DNA, but you need more care to use temp limiting. I did also notice it displayed temperatures that higher were than was set while firing and that looks like a decision to view average temperature differently to Evolv. Evolv did it to try and ensure that you could limit the max temp you liquid encountered to be able to avoid as yet unknown heat induced chemical reactions to demonstrate to regulators that this was practical. YiHi maybe just shot for mean temp over x milliseconds, don't know, but it ran a lot hotter. They could fix the calibration with firmware, but not the PWM, or the measuring r between pulses rather than real-time tracking.

The only reason I say that is that the IPV4 is the same kind of problem, but works absolutely fine taking a different start point after doing the burn test and sticking to it, it`s a fair way out from Evolve temp readings but it works A1 with a new reference point It has been totally consistent since I did that. EDIT ................ I cant for the life of me see why they need such a wide range for temperature setting, maybe for new coiling alloys, I dont know.

That`s what I have messaged Yihi about, whether they can change the firmware to give just a little consistency with other mods. Personally with a real world situation you are going to know when the liquid dries up before it gets to the burning stage. The wick with even a little liquid in it is going to act as a heat sync.

The high temp is useful for clean coils with out getting them glowing, the lowest I have vaped at is 350, but may try lower on a cotton build some time.

VapingBad i didn't go lower than 300f last time, why would I at the time, I was use to vaping around 400f, hence it got returned. Been Vaping this one at 230-250f and temps working fine, kinda agree with you robby, is just a setting but the issue I see with it being so out is experience temp vapors could feel it doesn't work when testing at temps they are use to and new users will be reading months worth of 400f etc on the forums. Be nice if yihi can buy a new heat gun and change the settings with an update...

230 F is only 18 F above it minimum IIRC though letsavit, I'm vaping at 180 F on the DNA ATM which with yours would be right at the bottom or the range or even below the minimum. For the price of these things that is terrible, I think of adjust to taste as 10 or 20 % out, not 66% out, that may be OK for a very cheap clone but not at RRP £169 . It's is impossible to know how consistent this error in calibration is and if were an owner I would be making more noise to pressure YiHi to address it in firmware update The vape is not the same as the DNA either, a little harsher and less defined flavour when you can get the temp set.

VapingBad do agree, there is many other mod in my collection I would recommend over this, they need to sort it. It's a solid mod in hand but not worth the rrp compared to what's out and coming out now days. Working temp control is becoming the norm and can be had for £30 and be more accurate....

letsavit i haven't updated the firmware it's as it came i don't want to update either now until i hear back from the vendor and they ask me to try that. robby yep tried that all you get is the firmware version number, it boots up fine and the screen is fine when you boot it up it just goes nuts when you let the screen go out and fire it again.

bugger Flash the firmware? Nope haven't done that and i'm not going to unless the vendor tells me to do so, probably won't be able to anyway because you need to access the menu to do it and the thing doesn't respond to at all when the screen goes nutty which it probably will within 20 seconds. I don't want the vendor saying it's not their responsibility because i've upgraded the firmware either.
