Smowell DPV 50w , stuck in charge mode. HELP!!!!.

I have two of these. The charge port fell out of one. Then it started "reduced power" on me, all the way down to 8w, then "check atomiser". I can use it in mech mode, but 13.5w at 0.5 ohms don't cut the m(c)ustard . My other one gave up wattage mode today and is now a mech(ish). These things are very poor quality. Which is a shame, as I really like the mod.

Edit: OoooooH!! a lightbulb moment. Maybe I can use them to build my first mods with.....

tim if it's only showing 13.5watts in mech mode then you have a problem elsewhere - I suggest the 510 connection. At 0.5Ohms you should get somewhere around 30Watts. A bad 510 would also explain the wattage drops.

I know Ripshod, but I don't think it's the 510, maybe it is, but even so, it's still the build quality. It's basically pants. It's the only mod I have that has failed. And on two of them.

When I got mine I covered the void around the charge port with hot glue. Giving the port some mechanical protection. They are only surface mount soldered on, one sharp tap and the port will break away from the PCB.

Yeah, I did that with the second one on your(?) advice Des. They have still both failed to pass the test though. I really like the feel of the mod, so I might have to become a "mod maker". I'm sure there is something that will fit in it. Any advice welcome igual @windows anyone?

Without knowing the inside layout,space etc but at a guess this might go in www.modmaker.co.uk/Mod-Making-Supplies/VV-VW-Boards/MM456B-40W-Chipset
Though it might be the buttons in wrong place.

Do some measuring first, make sure a fdv 510 mill fit etc as well.
@windows is more experienced with vv,vw boards so I'd put more sway into his advice.
If its not pipe shaped it confuses me

We've had one for 3 or 4 months now and no issues at all, which is surprising due to the negative feedback the mod has and @pinkypuffs ability to knacker things by merely looking at them. Perhaps we just got lucky and got a really good unit.

Hi Peeps. Mine has again gone into charging mode permanently.

USB port now "fecked".

Will bring it to VapeFest and see if one of our guru`s can fix it.

Well it only lasted 10 days of usage before it became unusable.
