Having problems with my kayfun lite burning my throat every few pulls and was wondering if I was doing something wrong. Is it my wick that's causing it. Have tried changing the power on the I skick battery I've got it on but it doesn't help.

Sounds like you just havn't got the build right, most likely the wick is the issue. Either not enough wick in the coil, too much wick in the coil or the wrong amount of wick each side of the coil....Or a combination of two of those issues. It could be hindered by higher vg liquid too. I'd take the wick out, check the coil's ok & rewick it & then try again. I think they work well around 1.2ohm (ish)

ok thanks, I give it a try. New to this so keep trying to experiment! I've also got a problem with my kayfun whistling. I've got 2 kayfun clones, the one that's whistling is from hcigar.

It mights help to know which Istick you are using and at what ohm coil and what watts? I like my kayfuns at 1.5ohms and can't get lower enough on an istick 20 watt as put simply, it is too powerful.
On other mods I like a kayfun between 7-9 watts because of the lack of airflow.
You also may need to think about lowering your nic levels down a notch for kayfuns as it can be quite intense.

To add to the advise that has already been given. sometimes the vacuum pressure is to much for the liquid to wick efficiently. A finger over the hole whilst taking a toot till you can see a bubble rise will aid until the vacuum pressure is equalized and can wick on its own. The Kfun is a fickle beast but once youve cracked it its the best atomizer bar none IMO.

I must admit that this sounds like a wicking problem to me. I have had dry burning issues both with not enough wick (juice can't be replenished to the coil fast enough) or too much wick (cotton expands when wet, so effectively is strangled by the juice and again doesn't supply enough juice to the coil). I now use rayon in my Kayfuns with excellent results, but I would actually suggest that you persevere with cotton if that's what you are using, as once you have solved the problem with cotton, you will be able to more accurately gauge how much of other material you will need. The cotton should be able to move freely through the coil when pulled from side to side, but without any gaps. Once saturated with juice, this will then expand to the perfect size

Thanks everyone, I'll definitely be playing with my wicks! Determined to get it right and suppose its just practice. Originally I was putting too little wick in and it was leaking thru the airhole. Think I might have gone too far the other way now!

I have found the tutorials on u tube are very helpful and watching a few of those put me on the right track, then once you've got the hang of it and done it a few times it becomes second nature - good luck it's well worth the effort.

Excellent video , it also showed me that I've been making my coils on too small a screwdriver. Probably strangling my wick!! Thanks again everyone for all your help xx

If you use a 3mm former (could be a drill bit, mandrel or even an M3 bolt!), and .32 Kanthal then 6 wraps will give you about 1.1 ohms which works really well in a Kayfun. It's all trial and error until you find the sizes you prefer!

Use cellulose wick works like a charm. I've been using Fibre Freaks 80% vg up to 18 watts no dry hits at all.

Excellent video , it also showed me that I've been making my coils on too small a screwdriver. Probably strangling my wick!! Thanks again everyone for all your help xx Thats exactly what I found happens when when using a small diameter coil. I use a 4mm bar and 5-6 turns of .45mm wire will get you one side or the other of 1.0 Ohm. You can get a good size roll of cotton through it without 'choking' the cotton. If you 'fluff' the ends up by blow hard on them after you trim, you get it to from 2 big fluffy pillows on each side. Like so Funny cos i had taken these a few days ago because i was thinking of doing a picture guide, but was umming and arring as to whether it was relevant now everyone seems to be moving on to the K4.

I have had dry burning when changing battery on my KFL+ for a few days. I sorted it this am. Just a few sucks (you don't have to put your finger over the airhole) till it gurgles. Sorted and I'm using a 2mm jewellers reamer for my coils Also what i like about the KFL+ it's not power hungry (note to ceedee) like the erl clones
