I guess it's some bug, and not bothered really as i know they will be on the case with any issues, and likely an update in a few days or so.

The temp protected message is showing fine on the June 2015 board I am using ATM.

October 2015 board ......nope March 2016 board.........nope i'm not even going to bother with my rolo which is now running V1.2 SP2 lost temperature protection message in all materials. Stepping back escribe and firmware makes no difference. As does reloading v1.2 and SP2 ( now have two mods running different versions) hmmmm.....guess thats stuffed it for now.

Right a wee experiment. both of the mods i tried this on were the Lost vape Halcon squonker and the Lost Vape Triade. i reverted the Halycon back to factory settings, tested it in TC mode and it flashed Temp protection once again, and all is fine. Updated back to the latest version and lo and behold it's now working fine on my mod, it seemed to be a bit longer before the message was flashed but it is working just fine.

I've got two different versions of escribe now, I've stepped back even further, on the factory settings it seems to work, no updates at all. the new one....qwak qwak oops.
one thing that has happened that really gets me foxed. obviously going back to OE resets the internal resistance? My IR was 0.004 and now its 0.09
my windows mod was 0.007 and now its 0.011.
is it possible that the SS update just changes the internal resistance of the mod? Makes it less fierce? If you change the IR the characteristics of the mod change.
This is my original issue with the Evic, it couldn't read the IR correctly.......Is the DNA200 now effectively 'damped'.

That's a strange one isn't it! I have a threaded copper rod I check mine with, so at some point I'll check mine again

Dunno m8, i do feel that the SS316L i am using is better since the update, as i had noticed with the DNA 75 mod SS was a nice vape until now. Whether that was just down to an IR change i dont know, would that not throw out other TC wires?

From what I've read getting the correct IR is quite important. I can't see that changing, so it makes me think the new update may be making the board not to read correctly

It shouldn't be changing the mod res, IDK what's going on there and have not seen anyone else have that happen, I checked all mine add they are all the same as they ever were, even the one the USB cable got tugged out of while it was updating. Or SteveF you saying you measured it again and it is higher, that happened to one guy in the beta and it was his board ground screws needed tightening. As car147 said it take slightly longer for the temp protected message to show, people in the past have taken this as an error message and people using temp to control the power don't want to see it so I think Evolv have made it less intrusive.

Mine seems normal Am I doing it right by using the .005 as my mod resistance or should I be using the Nominal Ohms?

Yes, 0.005 or even 0.004 to give a little margin, never higher than the test that can some times interfere with temp control (always set it to zero before measuring). But at the end of the day all it does it make it more accurate, both watts and temp especially with lower res builds, but if you just adjusted to taste it would matter.
