ecigs have just been discussed on Inside Health on R4 - comments mostly positive - even from a health pro.

They've got the Nicotine Pyruvate prototype under development, and I'm expecting that we'll see it on the market at either the end of the year or at the turn of the year, in time for the new year resolutions. More details at www.nicoventures.co.uk/

I'm sure they'll try to "rubbish" existing E-cigs and get legislation passed that edges the competition out, you just watch.

I'm sure they'll try to "rubbish" existing E-cigs and get legislation passed that edges the competition out, you just watch. They're not the real worry - they're looking for a recreational/harm reduction use for their product - and will get the MA based on that. No, the real worry is Intellicig, who are looking for an NRT-based MA for their product, which definitely IS an e-cig (actually, an M401). If they get that through, the MHRA could potentially then be down on other vendors like a ton of bricks. And, sad to say, that bloke at the top of the piece claiming that e-cigs helped him stop smoking plays right into Intellicig's hands.

Does this mean we will all need to stock up on our supplies before either the price goes thru the roof or supplies get harder to find. Or learn to make our own. Modding here I come.

To be honest I had no idea how much research and development had gone into intellicig, I don't see how it can be a bad thing, they're a little bit more expensive than average, but not that much, and for some, those that don't trust the unregulated industry, of which I've met many, they could be the step forward that is needed.
I have to be honest, I worry when ordering some juices, or should I say I did before I found this forum, as you don't know what they've put in them, it's only because I found this place, and you guys give good advice, that I now trust what I'm buying, and if I find something new, I'll put it to you guys first. 99.9% of vendors are going to be trustworthy, but it wouldn't surprise me in this day and age, and in an unregulated industry, to find out somebody had been adding unsafe ingredients to juice to make it taste better, or give better throat hit. Thank heavens for places like this forum hey.

To be fair, they have produced a good e-liquid - it's well thought of. But that's as far as it goes. Otherwise, their "intellicig" - the evo or M401 - is years behind the current crop of top performing e-cigs. The whole point of their thrust is to achieve Pharma status - to establish e-cigs and e-liquid as a drug and drug delivery device combination, and to be first to market with a MA for NRT use.
If they achieve that, then all the flavoured juices people like, and all the better performing e-cigs that folks prefer to the M401 are potentially at risk from being removed from sale until an MA can be gained for them - great for Intellicig - not so great for everybody else.

Interesting.... But still...if it means we can vape without being stared at I'm all for it... I should be off the e-cig by the end of the year (am using it as a nic reduction device) so I'm not worried... Job done Jane
