Hi there, Im Michelle and Im from South Yorks in the UK. My best friend has successfully switched to e-cigs via a groupon offer a while ago. It has made me think, but I like to research things first. I currently smoke 20ish a day, stirling Menthol Superkiings. I have about 5 to 10 in the day then loads if I have a drink! Im sick of the smell in the hose, sick of standing in the cold, worry about the kids etc etc etc. So Im trying to look into it. Im thinking Im going to go for the predone kind rather than do my own liquid and stuff as Im super busy and want something easy. Most of the sites Ive seen linked from here are geared towards the DIY ecigger, can anyone recommend a good one f0or me???? Cheers all xx Chelle xx

Hi Michelle and welcome, I started with the VIP e-cig and was chuffed to bits for a day or 2. I then realised that the batteries were not big enough to last more than a few hours and I would be constantly looking for a charging point. I then bought the Riva 1100. The batteries last 2 to 3 days and I have never looked back. I'm only fairly newish to e-cigs and my recommendation would be to buy the Riva. However, there are far more experienced members here who will be better at helping you out. But anyway, welcome to the forum.

Hi Chelle:)
Welcome to the forum:) glad you found it (im still noob too as are a few others so your in the right place for asking questions, and they love questions here..) amazingly friendly and helpful community this is
Anyway.. Good news about your freind. sooo many people have successfully quit the anologues by migrating to ecigs etc (myself included and I was a terrible quitter)
soo..
there kind of seems to be a pattern where folk first want a cigalike etc, then soon discover the battery just doesnt last long enough, or they want better vapor etc.. (is how I and many seemed to go anyway)
soo I'm still not sure of all the cigalike brands and which would be best, ie battery life etc, but others will along im sure with more knowledge on that as there is so many on the market
I know I used a cigalike for a week before switching to a riva, which you might see mentioned a lot and for good reason, theyre awesome, but a little fatter than a cigalike.. however theres plenty of discount codes from the vendors here so you get a really good deal on them too
anyway.. sure you will get more replies soon.. Well done for venturing into the Ecig and moving towards quitting you will be amazed how easy it is!..
just dont be tempted by the free ecig offers etc, I Would advise to stay away from them as they can be dubious at best..
Martin

Hi Chelle and a warm welcome to the forum the vaping world can be a little confusing at first but you will soon get the hang of it so dont worry as the guys have said alot of people start with the e-cigs that resemble ciggys and then find that the batteries last you a couple of hours at most and soon upgrade to a better model one model that is very popular is the Riva or eGo a single battery will last a 20 a day smoker all day on one charge. the supplied atomiser (heating element) can be swapped out for the more popular cartomiser on request. now i dont want to confuse you at this point but the cartomiser is the heating element and e-liquid supply part of the e-cig which you need to fill with your choice of e-liquid. these are considered disposable and can be refilled many times over. if you take a look here there is a video to show how they are filled if this looks like too much faff there are alternatives like the vision ego or the imist that use a tank to hold the e-liquid rather than filler material and are alot simpler to use. they will all fit onto the riva battery so once you have the basic kit you can try any of these to find the one that suits you best i hope i didnt write too much and confuse you ...ask all the questions you need PS for e-liquid may i recommend grizwalds pic n mix some really lovely flavours there

Hi there Michelle! I am a very long-term e-cigger but I don't have the experience of new products like shorter-term vapers do, cos when I started out there were only weak cig-alikes. But they got me off 50+ unfiltered rollies a day Had been a heavy smoker for 50 years. A MIRACLE! The feedback on the Riva is so good that I wouldn't recommend anything else - you just need an open mind to accept the size, then take the plunge. Once you get the gear in your mitts you'll begin to understand how it all works. Good luck and thank you for joining us!

I think the Vapour Hut Variable kit is a great starter kit for the price and versatility.. vapourhut.com/e-cigarette%20kit/VH-VKAdd some juice and you got a VV Tank system and decent batteries...

It does seem really complicated at first doesn't it? But, as has been said, once you get your gear, you can come back here and everyone will help as much as possible. the beauty of the Riva is that there are so many different things that will fit on the battery, so bound to be something suitable for you The vast array of juices and filling cartomizers etc just overwhelmed me at first, now 5 weeks in, i'm frightened to count how many different ones I still have to try! My workmate is on a cig-a-like with disposable cartridges and I was tempted as it seemed so simple but I'm, so pleased i listened to the advice here and got a Riva! this is so much more fun than smoking

Michelle I'm with eveyone else regarding the Riva. I started with a mini kit but soon found out that I needed something better and the Riva is great, 2-3 days vaping between charges Its not a cig-a-like but it is a brilliant bit of equipment. I love mine Cartomisers are great and easy to use too. AND the best bit......... e-juice............ so many flavours to vape, much better than plain tobacco and menthol

Hello & Michelle As a long term e-cig user I would also recommend the Riva and cartomisers for a beginner. You can get them in an array of colours including Girly Pink (can't see the attraction myself). get one then laugh at your friends need to recharge the cig-a-like so often.

Hello Michelle.
I started on the V.I.P too, and was very happy with it for a while, and I still love their Tobacco, and menthol, But I smoked 20+ a day, and found their batteries just didn't last long enough for a heavy vaper, I've no idea if you'll have better luck with a supermini, since you don't smoke very much. Anyway, I upgraded to a riva, and I've been extremely happy with my purchase.
In my honest opinion, you being a light smoker, and not wanting any faffing about, I think I'd still recommend a good super mini like the VIP at least to start with, as it's as simple as it gets, with prefilled cartos. But make sure you get at least an extra battery, maybe 2.
However, remember though, if you can be bothered to put that tiny bit of extra effort and faff in, then definitely go for the riva, the batteries will last you minimum of a day, usually a lot more, the choice of juices out there is vast, and you'll save a lot more money than you would buying only prefilled cartos (assuming you don't get hooked on buying different juices and toys that is.)
Good luck Michelle, and welcome.
