Yep... it's the footie, and our England heroes (most on £100k+ per week) have set the pulses raging... NOT!

And as for Sterling, who obviously thinks he's worth £1M per week, missed two sitters!

I know it's only half time, and they could still salvage a draw or even a win, but after the recent results against part-time teams, we've had the usual build up of hype and we're unbeatable. Even if we qualify, as we should from points already earned, we'll still be out at the first stage when coming across half decent teams.

Why am I surprised  I know it's my old pet hate about the mega rich sports 'stars' who don't perform ... ending rant here before I get banned!

I'm sorry but I hear football and I just Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I swear to god .. I would run around for 90 minutes chasing a bag of air if someone paid me that much !! I have to work 39 hrs a week 52 weeks of the year and I earn a pittance compared to them !

I think perhaps I should become a footballer as I can run around and fall over easy peasy

I believe you need an Actors Equity Card before you can become a footballer.

Sorry to be so cynical, but I compare football and the 'hangers on' i.e. the media 'experts' to the 'cockroaches' of banking... it's 'our' world and we are ripping all you hard working people off. This is my personal opinion.

Oh you are too right with the equity card.

It's embarrasing to watch so many of the "top" players in recent years. Drogba, Ronaldo, Robben, Suarez, Bale, A. Young... scum who should all have been handed lifetime bans for diving. On top of that the classless attitude of some players like Hannibal Suarez, Baby Totti and A. Young....no wonder people are disillisioned. What we really need are more top players with class such as Allessandro Del Piero Gianluigi Buffon, and Javier Zanetti. All three are gentlemen on and off the pitch and they all realise how lucky they are and as such give a lot of time and money to charities. On top of this they are true role models for future generations. Men who value loyalty and act with compassion and embrace gentlemanly conduct.

As well as this I hate the laziness so many attacking players have today. Look at Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar and co. If they don't have the ball or a chance for someone to pass to them then they don't care, the lights are off and nobodies home. Compare them to Tevez who never stops trying, Nedved who would wear out an entire pitch with his running, or a man we should all remember fondly, Vinny Jones who never stoped working or believing. Those are they guys I pay to see, not some lazy, diving jezabell who is paid millions to stand around and cry.

All the players sat as kids with mum, dad and uncle Harry watching England. Watching England underperform. Watching players who put in great performances for their clubs, prat about in England shirts. And what do they do? Just the same old same old.
