Hi there, does anyone here have a pg intolerance and if so what are your symptoms. I've been having dreadful muscle aches, tiredness and weakness. Going to get it checked out with my doc as I'm not sure if this is what's causing it yet but I did find out from the net that muscle pain can be a symptom.

Best bet is to go to the doctor You could also try some high vg liquid and see if the symptoms persist jacq

The only way to find out is to stop vaping for a week or two. Then, if it improves, try 100% vg.

I have a PG intoleance. Sore neck and shoulders, into the ribs if I stretch.
2 days is all it took to see myself getting better when I paused. Now on 85% VG homemixed, and once I find myself a satisfying concentrate or 2 in VG I'll be PG free. Only downside was having to increase the flavours a bit, and a lot of tanks wouldn't wick nicely. Thin it with vodka.

My PG intolerance resulted in thousands, more like millions of spots & crazy itching all over from head to foot, sent me crazy it did. Not suffered with anything like you've mentioned though jacqBest to get to the doctor, and in the meantime change over to virtually 100% VG or as much VG as possible.

My PG intolerance is as Toots . . . . which flared up after 18months of vaping, apparently 1 in 10 of us are PG sensitive. Symptoms do vary from person to person jacq - although it's certainly wise to seek medical advice. Side effects include one or more of the following symptoms:
Sore, dry or inflamed throat and mouth Muscle pains Rash Hives Diarrhea Sleeping difficulties Excessive nasal mucus production Sore and red eyes. The good news is, it is controllable - far more easily so now with the larger choice of eliquid blends Vendors offer, or going down the DIY route.

Thanks, you've all been so helpful and I'm going straight on to 100% vg to see what happens. The soreness in my neck and shoulders is unbearable and I even thought I had arthritis in my knees! Definitely going to go onto diy, just trying to get my head round the calculator but think I've got it sussed now. Adding vodka is something I didn't know about, would gin be ok coz hubby has that already. I don't drink much!! How high would I have to go % wise on the flavours or is it going to be just trial and error?

I dilute a little with water, I used to used demineralized water, but found out that wasn't such a good idea. You can buy distilled water from any pharmacy. I've never heard of anyone using gin, I guess the obvious thing with that is that everything would taste of gin, which may not be to everyone's liking Standard dilution rate for vg is 10% water/vodka but I recommend slightly less, from my personal experience. (remember that you are only diluting the pure vg content, not the flavour as well) Some companies sell pre diluted vg, I've never gone that route, but sounds easy

Why not using WFI (Water For Injection) instead of other types of water?
I never had such symptoms with PG, but the only one it gets me is an eternal cough that makes my throat like a mop... coughing too much, just like an old mule which is one step defore its relocation to Heaven...
There are so few e-liquids that contain more that 30-40% of PG that I can stand and usually making my DIY with 90% VG-10% PG...
Basically it depends on the quality of the PG and the funny thing is that the base I am using the last couple of months and am fully satisfied is Pink Mule's purple one, 70%VG-30% PG which also contains a bit of sweetener... (it's also very thick, so I am using 15%-20% of WFI)

Several of my recipes call for a drop of alcohol, many use vodka as it has virtually no sugars ( these kill coils fast). In one of my dripper juices ( pear and black walnut ) I add 0.3% brandy.

Thanks guys, as I don't like alcohol much(!!) I'll give the water a try. It would def be cheaper!! Have been on vg since yesterday and already my aches seem to be going.Would 20% flavouring be ok with 100% vg?

Depends on the concentrate jacqAll the known and respected manufacturers have a kind of suggested proportion for each concentrate... most of the times you can find it in the description tag of the concentrate...
