Cool...., just caught up with forum and noticed how busy you're so carry on mate, speak to yer nearer the time when my comes up....thinking ATM Lipo and I can change myself later if I wanna use 18650s

From the Evolv forum (link), somethings you should know about working with DNA200 and any board.

Right now the two biggest issues we are seeing with the VAST majority of returns is one, soldering too cool, for too long and heating the entire board, or soldering too long due to not pre-tinning wires and pre-flowing solder onto pads. I like to solder very hot, very fast in order to avoid heating any surrounding areas.

Two, and this is the big one so far, is people using all manner of glues, epoxies, etc. Anything solvent based is a BIG no no especially.

Anything other than an electronics grade epoxy or electronic grade RTV/Silicone can and will compromise your board and its components.

Electronics grade RTV/Silicone is likely everyone's best bet as electronics grade glue and epoxy is very expensive.

if your going to solder on the cheap get a gas powered one not a £15 mains one
and the glue thing

I wouldn't use my 75 W gas powered Antex iron on these either that 14 AWG needs a beefy temp controlled iron that will boost the power as soon as the temp drops, the right size tip and heat shunts also help to do a really good job. People who don't use heat shunts, don't tin both sides and keep the heat on for too long have also been tinning the wire too far along the the length of the wire then jamming them in the box causing the pad to lift. People bridging solder onto other bits of the board, not bending the screen cable clear of the fire button and using fixings that short the board to the case. I don't stop some of them claiming it's a faulty board, but IMO it's a component and like any other electronic component it is your responsibility to fit it properly.

The cut-off is standard, the capacity is battery mAh specific just click the button on the Mod tab and put in the mAh and accept the calculated value.

(The capacity Wh = mAh * 11.1 V / 1000)

Just got the OK for Sugru from Evolv, it is a silicon putty that is mega useful for the home modder and untold other uses. They didn't comment on hot glue even though the question was asked before my question.

Sugru is fine. Anything silicone based is okay as long it is solvent free and non-corrosive.
