Thought I would start a thread to share stuff for people that will be building a DNA200. Mike Petro of ECF has given permission for me to share the " DNA200 Related Resource List" he has started, there is a link at the top of the document if you want to add any. You should find most links you need in there. Also the Evolv DNA 200 Early Adopters Forum is great, Bradon, John, James and Nick from Evolv are active and taking suggestions on board, they even took up one of mine. They had it on the beta the next day and live a couple of days after that, so don't be shy if they listen to me they will listen to anyone. Excellent guide to common problems by BlueRidgeDog on the Evolv forum.

Great resource there VapingBad, great find!! Looking for inspiration or vaping porn letsavit? inspiration to build a mod, starting mine tomorrow...! Just porn for now, not just the pretty pictures also what some of the guys are chatting about..... "From a developers standpoint, what is the interfacing to this? Is it JS in eclipse? or higher level? I am interested in building discreet/custom wire profiles for our various wire products. Is it going to be possible to build non-linear PTC scalars? I.E. develop a TC scalar for each discreet product. We have the necessary gear in our lab to test calibrations at various energy/heat levels. I would like to give my customers a downloadable file for each of our wire compositions and sizes. " talking scalers now that really gives me an upward vector..... On a more serious note the guys there could well push temp control forwards for us all, I have asked "Any plans in the future to develop a board with this tech/software that can use a single 18650? " see if I get reply?

Can you not use 2 18650's to power this board and just not use it past like 150w? If not any links for a Hammond box that this chip would fit in with 3 18650s?

gm111 you can use 3 cells (with balance taps) of Lipo, LiFePo or IMR and get battery monitoring and balancing or you can use any 12 V supply without the battery monitoring and charging. It now has a battery analyser on board to get very accurate charged discharge data to better manage the battery. You need to set the capacity and chemistry of the battery in the software, you can also specify to only charge 4.2 V cells to 4.1 V so they last much longer (a feature suggested by a user ). If you were to use 18650 you get no reverse battery protection, they are planning a module to provide this, but it is designed for battery packs that cannot be plugged in the wrong way around. (requires 23 A @12 V) New firmware just released:

Is there any size diffence in them?

Yes, LiFePo4 are a safer chemistry, but lower power density and they will mean a small drop off in the resistance range at 200 W when the battery is low, John from Evolv said

Yes, they will take up more space than LiFePo4 & 18650 and can have a much higher current rating than 18650s, have a look at the doc linked in the first post ther is another doc linked to suitable Lipo, IMO 2250 mAh are on the big side unless you are going to be near 200 W a lot. (Multiple the mAh by 3 to get the rough equivalent mAh from 18650s, a 1000 mAh would outlast a 3000 mAh 18650). ETA battery list

Do you know what the dimensions of the board are VapingBad ? 71mm height x 18 mm width but what's the depth? There are details in the manual/spec pdf, with the balance socket fitted 15.3 mm to the front of the USB, 11.8 mm if you put the balance socket on leads (subtract the thickness of the box and leave room for XT30 or what ever connectors you are using > 6 mm).
