Well as you know beer can still be fermenting in the bottle, with live yeasts etc. but Fizzy juice is just the concentrate mixed with water, filled with CO2, capped and is ready to drink. So nothing live in the bottle to create more CO2.

I'm a LDPE gal myself.  Gee thanks Mandy LDPE?? Now you've bolloxed me! Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is safe plastic used for beverage containers. Jim Low-density polyethylene Jim or just PE . . . . the opaque slightlysquishyeasiertosqueeze type of bottle, which I find easier to manage.  Safe for our uses, although a strong Cinnamon/Acidic/Menthol stored for any length of time might not be the best idea. |

afaik pet bottles can be o2 permeable but when containing a carbonated drink the 'osmosis' of o2 into the bottle is hampered by the higher internal pressure, also some pet bottles (polykegs hehe) are laminated with non permeable films. co2 being a bigger molecule wont permeate the placky tho.
will admit to being hazy on the subject and far from expert so forgive me if i am shooting wide,
