Not tired yet I spose so trawling a few forums, catching on missed TV and having a beer. Is your user name ironic MRS SLEEPY or just a rear insomniatic night?

I do both mtl and direct lung subohming. I'm quite happy puffing away at work mtl on my protank 3 at 10 watts, I can't be blowing clouds around the office anyway and if I subohmed all day the amount of juice I'd go through is unreal. Once I get home though it's a different story, out comes either the subtank or the isub. It's all preference and I don't find a huge amount of difference when it comes to flavour

OK guys ... You have all persuaded me to give it a go. Thanks for all your advice. I have ordered an eleaf istick 50w from eleafworld (£37.98 delivered with dissy code PLANET) and a kanger subtank mini from vapeescape (£26.24 delivered with dissy code all about). Looking forward to hearing how you get on, one way or t'other @yinyang.

I will certainly keep you updated Mandy (if I manage to survive the experience ) You will . . . . never know Bill, you could very well go on to be the Sub-Ohm King of the Forum. Have you got some low, low nic liquids to try out with your Sub Tank or are you already on low strengths?

No low nic liquid atm, only 18mg so I am off to the mancave to mix some 10mg Dutch chocolate mint which needs very little steeping. Thanks for the reminder Mandy.

I have only fairly recently 'converted' to sub-ohming, and have dropped my juice strength from 10mg to 6mg and falling. My next mixes will be at 3.5mg to make the maths easy (and believe me, I need all the help I can get in that area!). I also love the more open draw, and the flavours I now get from juices which I used to enjoy in a Kayfun or Taifun are immense in comparison.
The advantages - more flavour; better clouds (if you are into that sort of thing), and better performance from your tanks. The disadvantages - you need tanks capable of using lower resistance coils, or something which will take dual coils, enabling you to fire at around .5 with two 1ohm coils; you do get through more juice as you are vapourising more with each draw; and most importantly of all, you need a mod, either mech or variable power, which can safely handle lower resistance vaping without endangering you with regard to the battery stability. I have a couple of MVP3s, and both can handle tanks lower than I currently use, at around .5ohm.
If you are happy with your current setup, sit back and enjoy it, but if you want a challenge or simply want to see what the fuss is about, then a modest investment will enable you to safely try these things out.

Thanks for your views Andy. I have been persuaded and have an istick 50w and a kanger subtank mini on order. Perpetua has also pointed out the need for lower nic so I have just mixed some Dutch chocolate mint at 10mg which needs only a few days steeping and should be ready by the time the hardware arrives. Thanks again to all who have contributed to this thread ... Bill

Bill If you try direct lung inhale and haven't before then go easy, you'll probably cough your guts up initially but it soon becomes the norm, the only problem is if you get away with it your current kit will soon be collecting dust, I did try to warn you good choice with the Subtank mini though, a great tank and the most leak free tank ive ever owned, I'm quite a fan of them

i get better flavour with a tight draw and non sub ohm resistances at 15-17 watts then i have with any sub ohm wide open dripper/tank and my juice lasts longer and batteries aswell. i dont get sik kloudz but i have no interest in that if you dont get on with the subtank least you will have a nice mod with the istick 50w, if you put what you normally use on it and vape at your normal wattage the battery should last 4 or 5 days
