Have just got started on vaping and determined not to smoke anlogues again, getting my kit altogether etc, really enjoying being smoke free. Just read that you cannot vap if you have high blood pressure! I have and take meds for it, can't get in to talk to my Dr about it ..no vacancies today. Thought it was too good to be true , giving up smoking could not be so easy and pleasant as vaping is. As I am addicted to nicotine I will have to return to smoking the dreaded fags again...my family will be sooo disappointed, they thought my vaping was excellent, no more smelly smoke in my house and on my clothes. So, so SAD.

Just a thought but can you not get a home BP monitor just to check? Or get it done at the chemist asap just to check it...then you can see and be sure

Lil, does it say why you cant vape with high blood pressure? If it is because of the nicotine than surely you shouldnt be smoking either? And out of the two vaping has to be the better option.
You can get no nic liquids perhaps thats the way to go.

Nicotine raises BP because it constricts blood vessels whether be it from Vaping or smoking or any tobacco habit..Nictoine patches/gum/lozenges also have the same effect as far as I know..
Like Bel says, a link would be most helpful..Consulting the doctor is always wise though I doubt they will recommend vaping as an alternative..

It is almost bordering on funny, not your situation so much as the worries people have in general. As bel said, smoking as bad for blood pressure too(worse by all accounts), as are nicotine patches..... as is, most importantly of all, IMO, stress or worry. If you are getting too much nicotine you will know, there should also be indicators given by your body if your BP changes dramatically, I can tell almost instantly if mine changes...
You of course can't tell about long term damage/change to your blood pressure, I know though that smoking is worse than vaping (in every aspect) so returning to smoking would cause stress, nevermind all the physical damage of doing so... giving up everything would also create much more long term stress...
I know what I would do, but I am not a doctor (useless as they may be in many cases).

As others have pointed out, nicotine is the culprit and you will get the same risk of high blood pressure with the fags, but with the added bonus of all the other crap. I can near enough guarantee that if your Doctor were to have to pick one for you, it wouldn't be the fags. I would say carry on vaping, in moderation, rather than taking the step backwards.

I have been taking tablets for mild hypertension for 10 years. I recently was asked by my doctor to come in for a "MOT" and blood test, my BP was taken and it was LOWER (almost mormal) than it had ever been! It was a fasting blood test as they wanted to do my cholesterol as well and I had been chain vaping for at least an hour before going in. So my blood pressure was LOWER with vaping.

Just tried to get app to see my Dr, little Nazi receptionist said no vacancies till next week! Ran Co-op chemist spoke to pharmacist, she said safer to vap then smoke normal cigs, So, I am now a Happy Vapper again, can't tell you what a relief it was to have confirmation to continue.
It is on the leaflet from Vapeescape under Important Safety information, which is typical of me, ignore then read later HaHa.
I just felt a little dizzy earlier on, as I vaped without the Drip tip that I have been using as a mouth piece.

It is on the leaflet from Vapeescape under Important Safety information, which is typical of me, ignore then read later HaHa. Vendors HAVE to put information on their products or provide it. The information has to cover every eventuality, no matter HOW SMALL the risk may be! Just look at the info you get in things like Ibuprofen or Asprin, they'll frighten you to death! Here is an extract from the leaflet in a pack of Ibuprofen: May cause, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, skin rash, itching, swelling of the face or tongue, fever, sore throat, mouth ulcer, flu-like sympoms, sore throat, vertigo dizziness, tinitus, sleeping problems, hallucinations etc...etc... etc.... What they DON'T say is that these side effects are VERY RARE, they just have to put it on there to cover themselves. Also remember that the amount of nicotine you get from an ecig in medium liquids is absorbed into the bloodstream differently and the general rule of thumb it is about a quater the amount of nicotine that you get from a nasty.

Hey Lil, I find 24mg too high. I tend to use a max of 20mg for when I'm working and can only have a sly vape. When I can chain vape I favour anywhere between 10 - 15mg!
My friend has very high blood pressure and was a smoker. Her docs had no problem with her using NRT to stop. I see vaping as being very similar to NRT, nicotine without the other nasties in the nasties!
Why don't you pop in and see a pharmacist and ask their opinion of using nicotine replacement whilst having high blood pressure?
