I hope you're going to have a look outside your windows tonight to see if you can see the Aurora, caused by the recent CME (coronal mass ejection)? I wish I was in Scotland tonight, seeing the Northern Lights is on my bucket list.

"The Northern Lights can be seen at anytime in the night sky. The hours around local midnight are best. Displays may last from a few minutes to a few hours at a time, so make sure you give yourself enough time to see it."Just checked and unfortunately it is a full moon tonight

When I saw it in Scotland (Peterhead) about 5yrs ago, it lasted about 2 hours and was so bright that it was like somebody had turned on an electric green light bulb on in the sky. It washes over the sky in waves, it is quite stunning.

Typical I was up North LAST Thursday although I think I was too far West anyway and I think they have seen them as far South as London this Winter so you never know Des you might be lucky although I think Jane has best chance of seeing them

Oh I don't know, you might have green clouds I wonder if my friends at Loch Garten will see it, that's pretty far north-east. I also wonder if the cameras will pick up reflection and I could record it ??? Off to investigate.
