Gurgle free tanks?

I'm using an iTaste 134 with a Protank 2 and Kanger Kanger Airflow Control Valve V2. The valve gets flooded every now and then, which leads to gurgling. I rewick the coil head every week with pre-made wicks and wires from FastTech.

Now I'm wondering if there any tanks which don't leak/get flooded, etc.

Never had a leak yet on the subtank mini.

Picked up an Isub G the other day and it's been totally leak and gurgle free. Think you should be looking at this new breed of sub ohm clearos. I reckon the more restricted airflow on the likes of protanks and such leads to excess liquid getting sucked into the coil. That and condensation dripping back down the air tube leading to gurgling.

same tank setup as I use...several tips:-

1. every time you refill, take the drip tip off, and pull through the tip, the airway through the tank, AND TAKE THE HEAD OUT OF THE BASE and clean out in there too. A cocktail stick wrapped with a small strip of kitchen roll works

2. I also use the pre-mades from FT - sometimes you need to take a few strands out from the coil to stop dry hits, but also you sometimes you need to put a few strands of wick over the top of the coil to prevent excess juice getting past the coil and into the base.

i too had the same with protankII and III attys, ive since invested in rba's and have found that if you get that issue its generally a wicking issue, the wick should form an absorbent dam between the juice in and air in and if its not successful juice gets past and results in a gurgle. i can recomend the subtank mini and the clones found on fasttech, i have an original and have a number of fasttech clone bases and acrylic bell caps all vape with authentic kanger coil heads without a single gurgle, and if you use the rba option they are easy to set up too.. lots of how to vids etc on utube

grab a fastech subtank clone and authentic coils and forget about gurgling imho you dont have to sub ohm and can restrict the air in if you want to.

As much as I like the sub tanks, I do enjoy and use daily Protanks - without so much as a leak of gurgle. I do also use FT's ready coils and always pop a snippet of wick across the coil just to fill the channels a little better as G-J suggests.

With that and a VG heavy elquid then I don't get leaks, nor do I let the tank run too low either.

I believe it is 70%PG 30%VG (Hangsen Ancient). It's the only e-liquid I use, as I have not found another flavour which resembles Old Holborn roll-up baccy.

When you say a snippet of wick across the coil, do you mean on top of the existing wick?

Yes, just that exactly . . . . I use a piece that I've snipped off tidying up the ready coil.

The high PG is probably not helping with the gurgles . . . . especially with the warmer temperatures which will make it more runny than usual. That flavour is available as a concentrate:

^^^ what Perpetua says about pg/vg, the lowest PG I go is 70% (but prefer 80%) and it does make some gurgling more likely especially in the warm... but take a bit of time to get the wicks right and it will minimise the effects

If you are going to start mixing doctorjellybean, you need a few basic mixing supplies. A syringe, (or two,..... or more for other flavours), something to mix it in (old used bottles are good), and the main ingredients (Nicotine base, PG and VG, plus the concentrate). It really is simple to do though, look at the mixing calc on this forum for the quantities you need for whatever pg/vg/nic strength you want. Then mix, wait for it to steep and vape away. After the initial extra outlay, you will save yourself a fortune on juice.

p.s. I don't know what percentage that brand mixes at, but somebody will.

A starter kit is a straightforward way to get going, although it does cost a little more than buying the components separately - it can be convenient initially though.

I mix 90% of my juices, and can vouch for the savings. As an example, I mixed 150ml of juice last week. The concentrate cost about £10 for 30ml (I used it all), plus I reckon no more than £3 for the PG, VG and Nicotine Base. Grand total of £13.00 for 150ml of juice, that's around 90p/10ml. The particular concentrate I used needs only a couple of days of steeping, so will be ready to vape this week.

There is a certain outlay in the tools for the job, syringes, etc, but once you have this equipment, you will be on a winner from the second mix! And you have total control over the percentages, so can experiment not only with your favourite flavour, but for a couple of quid you could try other concentrates too. If you don't like them after trying, you will be able to shift them and recoup some of your outlay here in the Classified section of the forum.

The other advantage is that there are many of us here who mix our own, so there is always plenty of help should you require it

totally agree with what's been said re mixing doctorjellybean and disagree with sonicflowjoe about you needing a new tank

Protank heads will be available for a while yet - in fact I have some on order from FT

There is a quick fix for gurgling tanks on here somewhere? () but play with your mix before you buy a new tank as every tank has a different tweak to it (even if basically they're the same)

Not everyone sub-ohms and it doesn't bother us in the slightest!

at the end of the day what matters is that you stay off the stinkies....not what tank/mod you use!!!
