Just as introduction, 7 years vaping so been there done it.
Juice ?
It's all down to you !, some will agree some will not, so will tell my personal story to try to help.
Started on cigalikes with no choice of juice, 18 mg of some kind of tobacco, it worked, got educated, read more tried more, remember long time ago, went through B & H, Dunhill, even tried a lambert and butler and hated them when smoking lol, but found in the end my palate enjoyed Dekang tobacco that I still use at 18 MG just water down to about 11 with VG. This suits me, i've tried loads of others i've read about here and other places, tried loads at meet, but my fridge is still full of same as mentioned. If you find something that works, use it, if not experiment until you do (rainbow something, google them, do loads of samples), but at the end of the day do not be embarassed about using something peers do not like.
Hope this helps you new people on the road to coughing less.
MP
PS sweets or food taste, been there, rather eat than vape, that disagrees with a lot but hey ho lol

sorry mart166 but here's the first opposing view. Try everything. Make it fun. Bananas and peanut butter? Sure why not Do not look for ONE juice to stick with you may end up getting bored.........variety is the point that will stop you reverting to stinkies. Make it a hobby.....not a habit. It's not smoking......don't limit yourself to make it feel like it. Try to make it as far removed from smoking as possible. Lung hit instead of mouth-to-lung..........try fruits, custards, menthols etc. You're vaping now.........smoking is/should be behind you. And if you struggle.......ask for help here......you'll get it in spades. Just my 0.2p worth.

Like mart166 I went through a good few tobacco flavours and settled with Hansen USA Mix for the last 2.5 years and can't see that changing any-time soon, but do have some flavourless stuff I use as well now. There are a few of that are happy vaping with out having to worry about finding our favourite flavour. I totally see why Mart started this thread you should never ever feel that you are vaping something inferior, cheap or missing out if you are enjoying it. You don't have to spend loads on liquid if to keep up with the Joneses, mine cost between 2 & 4 pence per ml DIY. But if you want to vape every flavour or use première liquid that is just as valid, the fist rule of vaping is what works for you is the right thing.

I hope I never find my perfect flavour as I enjoy loads of different things.
Maybe it's different for me as I mix my own........so the next juice to try is only ever a few drops of this and that away.

Agreeing with kreed here, it's about the journey. Every time you think you're getting there along comes another dripper, or TC technology, or a new range of flavours. Long may it continue

I alternate three flavours - in three tanks daily- until I've drained a tank and then I substitute the juice -- and onwards I go! so I'm on rotation. Yes I do have about 5 juices I could settle for but I keep trying new stuff out and I enjoy that. Vaping isn't smoking, so I play around with flavours as that's what makes vaping fun (for me) I also swap about my gear and tanks so I can experience different types of vaping ... I'll sub ohm and squonk and drip and use rebuildable carto's and ceramics and rebuildables and mouth-to-lung and lung inhales and that's the attraction for me! ......I suppose its like my love life? I'll try anything once!!

Doing everything ( within reason! ) to excess is the right thing for me . . . . some of my current eliquids, a mixture of mostly DIY and some ' Premium ' Ready Mades that I enjoy. Almost every single bottle a different flavour to the next. Love it the variety and the fun of trying something different!

I absolutely agree with everything that's been said here, from mart166 and his sticking to one juice which does the job admirably for him, to kreed and his omments about experimentation. Me? I can't afford to buy premium juice at £15 a pop, so instead I prefer to dabble in mixing. I use predominantly one-shot mix-and-vape concentrates now, although I do mix up my own Custard which I love (another 200ml mixed this very afternoon!). To new vapers - it's your choice!! You can either find one flavour which you enjoy and leave it there, or like many of us try different ones, and sometimes be pleasantly surprised. I started with a popular vendors RY4 (tobacco and caramel flavour), but quickly moved on until I discovered Red Astaire, which does it for me (and the OH, I should add!). Will I try the American Premium brands? Probably not, but that's just because I can mix up 6 times as much juice with my own strength and mix of bases for the same money that I would pay for 15ml of the 'good stuff'. Above all though I am approaching 3 years with not a single cigarette touching my lips, and I feel so much better for it. I just want to make sure that I don't end up spending more on my vaping than I would have done on tobacco etc. Last point - ask if you get stuck; like Mart, some of us have been vaping for quite some time, have done it and got the t-shirt, and can help you quickly to solve whatever problem you might have. We don't bite, and the breadth of experience here will work for you I'm sure

Just to add, you may come across a flavor you don't like.... 4 suggestions: 1) Don't bin it, try it in another device. I've got juices which I can vape in a certain device but taste rank in a different device... go figure 2) Don't bin it... let it "steep" (infuse) for a couple of weeks in a dark corner, some juices are like wine, they get better with age 3) Don't bin it... if you've tried the above and still can't stand the stuff, pop in into a big bottle with any others you can't stand... sometimes from the remnants comes a vapable juice 4) Don't bin it... you can always bring it to one of the meets and donate it to someone who might like it (everyone's taste is different) You may detect a subtle theme here...

Och and it doesn't matter if you are even on a cigalike so long as it keeps you off the stinkies!!!! (and I'd also add - personally - that it saves you money but realise that doesn't apply to some)
No judgement here!!!!

I wish I read this thread 5 years ago. I binned a lot of juice coz I didn't like it. Very much later I realised that when I ignore it for a while it gets better. Not only the steeping part but also my taste is changing all the time.

My problem is my palate, I seem to find most juices give me a perfumed taste, I've tried literally thousands over the years, but just seem to get same taste from them. As for what to do with juices after tasting and not liking, if they samples I just give them away, if rather more expensive (see my ad in classies at moment) I sell them cheap, I have never found keeping or steeping has worked for me, was the same with home mixing, so just going to accept i'm a fussy s*d and live with it, but it's different with each person. So vape on friends, if it's good order/mix more, if it's not pass it on to someone with different tastes MP

At least it wasn't chanel no.5 LOL First spends with vaping savings were perfume (and I mean quite a bit).....a year later (after palate and nose adjustment) I realised I didn't like chanel no.5
