Am having bad hair days with attys. I only have five because I am waiting on stuff from Fastcech. Of these only the Innokin 30s (which I think is great) and the tank I got with my first purchase, a Kanger EMOW kit, still work, and the latter does not really count as a tank I really want to vape with at home! Brand new Kanger Protank Clone received last week had a faulty base and o rings, died after leaking for two days, am now waiting for a replacement base and O-rings from Fastech (not yet dispatched). An Aspire Vivi Nova S GLASS Bottom Coil, which I bought about three weeks ago as a standby, had some gurgling issues which have got worse and worse - it actually vapes OK and I'm not getting any juice splashes, but the level of gurgling just got so bad last night was offputting, and it was leaving a LOT of residue under the base. Tried all the usual (tightening, cleaning, blowing etc) but no good. Am waiting on replacement coils and hoping that will cure it. The Kanger Genitank Giant, which I've had about 2 weeks, started to have problems with a very burnt taste last week, I put another coil in it and it seemed fine, but last night, burnt taste again... I had assumed that the replacement dual coils that came with my original EMOW kit would fit, so I screwed one in, and NADA - would not work at all. On very close examination the coils for this seem to be a bit smaller than the ones that came with the EMOW. So I now have to wait a week for the new Kanger coils that I hope will fit. Not a very happy bunny icon_shoppingm but at least I have lots of replacement coils for the Innokin and EMOW.
Oh well... should have got replacement coils with the Aspire and the Genitank when I bought them...

These are the only two I have experience of beedee . . . . neither leak for me if wicked correctly, though I've only bought authentic Protanks. What PG/VG ratio of eliquid are you using? It's incredibly warm atm, so any high PG juices will become watery with the temperatures. What ohms is the coil head, and what power setting are you using it at?

Hi Perpetua. The clone had the coil head that came with it, it rated at 1.2 on my Athena, I was Vaping a 60vg mix at around 10watts. Am waiting on a replacement base for this. The Aspire had the 1.8 ohm coil (BVC, I think) that came with it. 60vg again at around 8 watts. Happily the replacement 1.8 aspire BVC was waiting for me today, so am going to try when I get a chance.

Pre-made coils were the bane of my life until I threw them all in the bin. I had a 30S that I liked, but ended up with a batch of bad coils that gave a burnt taste, or were only good for a day or two. By the time i used them up i had moved on to other tanks, but the coils always seemed to let me down at some point, either leaking or burnt taste. The Kanger protanks were the same for me as well. RBA's were the answer for me. You have the odd issue when learning how a new tank likes to be wicked, but once you figure it out the problems disappear(mostly). Hopefully you will get a decent batch of coils when they arrive and less problems

If youve got any old kanger heads with the silicone cup on the top try the cup on the coil thats too short (if I read it right). It may fill the missing space to get you by.

Got the new coils for the Viva Nova S, put one in - great for 10 mins then gurgling again, a couple of vapes later a lot of residue below the tank. Came across this in a search - www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/vivi-nova-gurgling-flooding-fix.359650/I looked at the little silicone seal on the top of the coil and, Lo and behold it had slipped. Put this right and it vapes fine (also found that not screwing on too tightly probably helps). Some posts that suggested these need to be kept upright so will do that too and see if it lasts. Once I get the protank base back am going to start to build my own. Did my first wicking on a plume veil I got for trying out new mixes today - and it seems to have worked a treat, so maybe that's the way to go. Thanks for feedback, folks!
