Not sure if this is right & I hope I can explain it clearly, but when i'm reading a thread, get to the last post & click the next page it always takes me to the last post on the next page ! Is that right ?.....On other forums I visit it always takes me to the top of the page !.....have I got some settings wrong somewhere ?

Another confusing thing.......as im viewing the forum, i scroll down to Shopping - China.....i see the last post is: Smok X Cube II TC 160W - £35.98 at GearBest - Lightning sale by robby 4 hours ago I clicked on it & the first time it took me to page 11 (half way down the page)......the second time I clicked it (5 seconds later to see if the same thing happened) it took me to page 12 !.....then the 3rd time page 13 !........to say i'm confuddled is a slight understatement

Hi markus I'm not sure why you should be seeing the last post on a page when you click "next" it should take you to the first post on that page if you haven't been on that page before. In your second example thats exactly whats happening, presumably you had been in that Gearbest thread before at some point and the last post in that thread had been halfway down on page 11 so when you opened it again it took you to your first "unread" post in that thread, then when you went out and clicked back again it took you to the first unread post on the next page 12 and then you tried again but as you'd then been on page 12 it took you to page 13 as that was the newest page. Does that make sense?

Your not alone markus. The same thing happens to me when I click on next page, and have to scroll all the way up to the top each time.

Either press the up! (bottom right corner)...or press 'home' on your keyboard...these take you straight to the top

According to Proboards support, the main reason for this problem is if you are using an ad blocker.

According to Proboards support, the main reason for this problem is if you are using an ad blocker. Diabolical response from Proboards to get you to see their adverts. The coding team should be able to sort that out easy if they could be bothered.

I have an ad blocker, so I will live with it as ads are more annoying.

As Chrissie says, it's Ad Blocker that causes this. I've switched it off for this domain only and it works absolutely fine now. There are still no pop-up ads and I barely notice the ones at the top of the screen. They are far less annoying than jumping to the bottom of the next page every time

Don't forget folks it's against Proboards TOS to use an ad bloker.

No one is going to bombard me with advertising that i neither want nor asked for so as far as their TOS is concerned well...

When you first created your account, you agreed to proboards terms of service & ones of those terms of service is that you must not use an ad bloker. There are only 2 banner ads - one at the top of the forum & another at the bottom, so you aren't bombarded by ads. If it wasn't for the ads, how do you think Proboards could continue to provide free forums?

I use ad blocker with pride! I didn't bother to read the pages of TOS but yes there it is, tucked inside the document at 19(d). To answer your other question they make their money by annoying users so that they eventually buy a premium account that removes the ads, which they know are annoying to users and the reason that they don't want you to use ad blocking plug-ins. I still fail to see how using an ad blocker puts me in the category of not supporting this site as per the big yellow letters at the top of the page. Obviously there have been issues with the advertising before due to the following at the top of the page: "Please note, any banner ads that you see at the top & bottom of the forum are placed there, not by us, but by our host Proboards. Therefore the items advertised are not endorsed by the forum." What would you do if an anti-vaping lobby decided to rent those spaces at the top and bottom of the pages? In fact i'm amazed that they haven't already. Am i going to turn ad-blocker off for this site? Well that's for Proboards to find out, which they can't so their thinly veiled attempt at trying to control what i do and don't see is potentially pointless. The users make the site not the provider, without users they will disappear very quickly, as has been proven in the past. Proboards are not there for our benefit, they are there to make money, that's the reason that they provide "free" forums, not because they are just a jolly nice bunch of chaps. I'm not having a go, it's just that along with many others we are fed up with being forced to see crap that we don't want to. PS. I go into Tesco petrol stations with a mask on so that the facial recognition software can't tailor in your face adverts to me whilst i wait to pay for my fuel. /tinhatbackon.
