Some of you may have read posts talking about the Kayfun Monster, and how it has revived some of our members Kayfun's. The reason it has is due to the extra airflow, and I would also say, its ability to get more juice to the wick than the standard Kayfun/Light/v2. This enables the user to build lower Ohm set-ups, which many of us head towards. Having bought the full kit from FT ( which cost all of £14.80) I was very happy with it, and glad to back using the beloved Kayfun design, with its easy to build single coil deck. This time with the extra flavor and vapor that I was looking for(to compete with the Goliath/Silverplay/Goblin etc). So after someone here, kittyvape I think it was, kindly pointed out the individual Monster Base could by sourced from FT for £6.24 , I decided to drop 1 in the basket so I could get another of my KFL's back in use. I did this and started thinking how many others I could get back in use with the addition of one of these bases. The answer was more than I would ever need to. I think it works out 11 with the odd top-cap and a number of chimney pieces needed. The set-up at the front(the bell-cap) has become my favorite KFL combi and it happens to be the cheapest to source all the bits needed. So here is the 'Cheap Monster' for those that need all the bits. The Base £6.24 The Chimney £1.28 (other choices of graphics can be found) The Bell-Cap £1.09 Total =£8.61 and you will just have to find a drip-tip that you like. Compare that to the FT Moster with bell-cap for £11.86 (THIS IS MISSING THE CHIMNEY O-RING) BewareFor those wanting to add a bit of color to the atty the bell-caps come in different colors as well acrylic-kayfun-bell-cap-4-pack These include that all important o-ring. Happy vaping all. UPDATE: As there has been a bit of interest here I thought I would compile a list of parts available from FT that should all go together, with the base, to make a 'nano' size Monster. So if you are a chimney piece short etc. Chimney Pieces:Top Chimney Section £1.13Bottom Chimney Section £1.38Bottom Chimney Section £1.38Bottom Chimney Section £1.38Complete Chimney £1.46Complete Chimney £1.46Tanks:Black Bell cap £1.12 (cant see chimney washer)Clear Bell Cap £1.09 (with washer)Spare chimney washers £1.07Have just found this, a new design tank for KFL . Looks nice so I will drop 1 in the basket and see.

Great post hijack , my kayfun and Russian have been gathering dust as they just can't compete with the new generation of suntanks .
Will invest in this kit to revive the buggers and get some great builds on these .

hijackI have never had a kayfun, so please excuse my ignorance. Am I right in thinking that if I bought those 3 components (base/chimney/Bell Cap) and stuck in a drip tip I would have a fully working kayfun-esque RTA. That is brilliant Nick

All you need is 1 replacement base to try it out @purple1234 hijackI have never had a kayfun, so please excuse my ignorance. That is brilliant Nick Yes Nick, although I dont have that particular chimney section, from what i see it should fit with the other parts listed. I have bought other chimney pieces that have all been ok, but i listed this one as it came with the top-cap piece as well.

I just set up the 2nd base that arrived yesterday. Twisted kanthal 3.5mm diameter. Wick needs to just fill the top of the channels. This helps avoid any leaks if layed down flat for a while. Will compete with the best of the rest.

I got my KFL+ in the summer. apart from hols (that needed an RG400 with SOC heads from FT - no messing - screw and drive as they say? Sorted) it's barely been out my hand and I may not sub ohm but I love it:). The Lemo I got off classies just hasn't even been opened!!! I have a feeling the Kayfuns may be around for quite a while yet - good for zombie apocalypse. One thing I will say, when ordering your Kayfun from Fast tech order the o-ring sets for everything kayfun at the same time (And a kayfil) - if they still have them - and you won't go far wrong!!!

I think you are right @johanino (Jane), there is still life in the KFL yet, even for the cloud chasers. Mine had started gathering dust due to better performing atty's out there. The Monster put it right back up there with the best again. Have been using the new Goblin atty today, and when i swapped over whilst doing this piece I couldn't really tell the difference.

I've got a few KFLs and some Russian clones kicking about in a box. I like lung hits and lots of air now, so any idea how the airflow might compare to a subtank mini for example?

I dont have a subtank reefcat (Shame on me). I can tell you that I also am a lung hitter, and have been using my new Goblin tank today and there is not much difference in airflow, which surprises me, as the goblin has 2 air holes of about the same diameter as the monster's 1. Just did a test for you, and full lung hit took 5 secs on Goblin and 5 secs on monster.
