No one will ever be able to blame the Lancet and their like for all the preventable cancers caused by those who carry on smoking because of their denial of the evidence about vaping v smoking.

They are playing safe at the expense of smokers if they realise it or not. It is they that have failed in their mission.

The Lancet lets not forget is the journal that had a huge hand in creating the whole anti vaccine movement by publishing Andrew Wakefield's fraudulent claims that the MMR vaccine causes autism and it took them 12 years to retract it even though the paper was widely disputed since it was first published.
It wasn't until Wakefield was actually struck off by the GMC and convicted of criminal fraud that they retracted the paper, no amount of scientific dispute could get them to do it.

Indeed I suspect Horton who was responsible for that may also be responsible for this scare.

I wondered how long it would be before the naysayer rhetoric would begin. It is only to be expected given the very clear report from PHE saying they were 95% safer than tobacco smoking. Well done PHE in their rebuttal and well done The Spectator.
