Hi all. My Pioneer4You iPV 4S 120W VW TC APV Box Mod died on me today. Totally dead so thought I had let the batteries drain but, to my surprise, they were still half charged. Did all the usual things (tried other batteries in IP, tested the batteries in other mods etc), nowt wrong with batteries. On close examination I think I found the problem (though I'm technically ungifted, so could be wrong!) (see pic below) Inside, what had happened is this: The problem seems to be that getting firm contact with the battery relies on the terminal being held firmly by the bit of the housing that is broken off. Shame that an otherwise really good product is ruined by the flimsiness of what is probably one of the cheapest components in it! Its only a few weeks old so I have contacted the seller, but it's China so, if any solution is forthcoming, it will take a loooooong time! Don't know one end of a soldering iron from the other so was looking for a straight replacement. Tried web searches but nothing that looks suitable has presented itself. If anyone has any suggestions would be grateful!

You could put some Sugru behind it.

Thanks for this, kreed much appreciated. Might not be able to because of the way the wiring above is positioned, but will give it a go! The fact that it worked for you is an encourager!

Have you got enough room to replace it with a keystone dual sled.

@windows and striker42 thanks for your suggestions. Checked out the keystone dual sled (once I'd found out what it is!) and the specs on this site: link www.modmaker.co.uk/Keystone-1049-Dual-18650-Battery-Holder reckon it's 77.06 long - the space between their upright poles is 75 - their battery holder has a little recess between the batteries to accommodate the rear upright pole, where the sled doesn't. Theirs is clearly custom made for the enclosure - even two little pins on the bottom that locate it. On a brighter note did try packing the thing as kreed suggested - this seemed to work - sure I'm now getting contact - but, (on a not so bright note) still dead as a doornail! I am starting to think something else is wrong here. Hopefully china will respond positively, if not, will be asking if anyone knows anyone who can have a look at it!

I had the exact thing happen in the exact same place, I only had mine a week, I haven't found a replacement sled yet but the temp fix I used was a bit of leccy tape over the end of the sled to hold the contact in place and it's working fine,
Edit, just checked the dates of op's post doh!!

Did you ever find a fix for this problem? I'm on my second ipv4s and it's having the same issue. Right now I'm using aluminum foil to make a connection on the left battery. Anyone who knows of a better way to fix this please help
