Welcome to you gillchristie. You'll find vaping tends to be quite drying in comparison to smoking, so make sure you take plenty of fluid onboard. Try eliquids with a higher VG content also, as they're less likely to give you a sore throat . . . . they tend be a softer vape than PG heavy liquid.

A. if using a variable volt mod/batterry turn it down its to hot B. drink more water C.If all the above not working ,could be PG intolerant, switch juice to higher VG mix

A sore and scratchy throat is unfortunately one of the symptoms from quitting cigarettes and vaping can irritate throat in the early stages so lots of fluids and vg heavy eliquid will help ease discomfort.
There's all sorts of crap in cigarettes besides nicotine and its withdrawals from those chemicals that can be confused with side effects from becoming a new vaper.
Its quite rare to have an allergy so its usually an irritant that your body re adjusts to vaping in a few weeks as your body rids itself of toxins from years of smoking

I've been vaping for 2yrs now and only use I-breathe medium menthol liquid as it tastes and feels the closest to smoking. Nothing is helping. I don't know what Pg or Vg content means.

Ok a lot of us mix our own gillchristie for a wide range of reasons so we know about PG and VG PG (propylene glycol) gives the throat hit (similar to regular cigarettes) or makes you cough or can even cause allergies ( Perpetua help me here please) VG (vegetable glycerine - you can even buy this stuff in Boots it's that benign!!!) gives the steam and is soothing These are both dilutents in e-cigs. Along with flavourings (food type generally) and nicotine that's all thats in an e-cigs Maybe your nicotine is too strong after 2 years vaping the same? Your body gets used to a certain level of nicotine after a while of vaping and needs less? Random thought I know - otherwise it's probably your PG concentration being too high Mixing costs are very cheap after the initial outlay but that's entirely upto you if you want to go down that route. You can get pre made liquids that have low/no PG. Your choice

gillchristie - hi and welcome to the forum from me too! You've had some good advice above regarding trying to drop your nicotine level after 2 years. It also might be worth trying some other Menthol flavours which may have less PG in them. Have a look at www.joosejuice.co.uk for some good menthol flavour; Jim whose company it is will mix to whatever strength and ratio you want. Here's a great menthol from his range; go for 50/50 PG/VG to start with, select your strength from the dropdown menu and maybe try the Medium Flavour Strength or some extra oomph. A 10ml tester is only £1.49, and 30ml will cost £3.46 if you like it. Great juice, and with menthol it's good to vape as soon as you receive it, no steeping required! Hope this helps!

fwiw when switching to vaping i suffered dry mouth, gum bleeding and a general sense of bad mouth feel, all par for the course as it turned out, even the gum bleeding is a healthy sign of gums reviving post tobacco. during the transition period i found the odd gargle of a superdrug own brand chlorhexidine mouthwash relieved the symptoms

I've been vaping for 2yrs now and only use I-breathe medium menthol liquid as it tastes and feels the closest to smoking. Nothing is helping. I don't know what Pg or Vg content means. Hey and welcome to the forum. I've been vaping over 2 years myself and been suffering from quite bad dry throats recently which often lead to headaches as well... I'm quite partial to menthol flavours every now and then but i have found these to be the worst for drying you out (especially with lung hits). Might be worth trying some different flavours. Have you tried juice with koolada in? This has a a similar cooling effect to menthol. I can't vouch for if it has the same drying effect as menthol or not as not really tried it much, but worth a try maybe? Also if you're getting dehydrated you can make up your own reyhdration solution with a 1/4 teaspoon of ground sea salt, 6 teaspoons of honey, a sqeezed lemon or lime and 500mls of water. Tastes great and i found this stuff has worked wonders for me when i'm feeling parched Good luck!
