Automated email from Proboards

Today I got an automated email from Proboards advising me that - shock, horror - there are new threads on the forum for me to read.

This is the first time I've been spammed by Proboards, hopefully it will be the last.
Anyone else had these?

Pro Boards. Getting 2-3 emails a day. Needs a stop putting to it.

I got these, there is an easy unsubscribe list to adjust what mails you get, i suspect they added a new threads subscription button and defaulted it to on, all other options for me were off.

I'd think it part of their new/upgrade notification system OneDay - it's easy enough to opt out though.

You can adjust what you get emailed about and how often if you go into your profile, edit profile and the click the notifications tab.

Opps.....I took the easy option & just blocked the email address !.....

markus it might be a good idea to unblock the email addie, just in case, sometime in the future, you do want any notifications sent via email.

Will do @chrissie....It was a "should I have done that?" moment after I'd done it.....I later thought, dont mind getting emails from admin & thought it might block those as well.

I don't remember seeing "Smart" in the Notification settings
Menu Bar: Profile / Edit Profile / Notifications / Participated.
Used to be set to Daily but now...

Anyway, a little search-foo threw up this snippet from another board back in August

The 'smart' option exists to provide what we consider to be the most useful interval of notifications for each type. In the general case, a notification that's set to smart will trigger immediately the first time, and then not trigger again until you've completed an action that shows that you have acknowledged that notification. For example, if you have bookmarks set to instant, every time someone replies to a bookmarked thread, you'd receive a notification about it. For popular threads, this can quickly clog up your inbox. When set to smart, you'll receive a notification the first time that bookmark is replied to, but then you will not receive any more notifications about that bookmark until you view the thread again. This way you only get notified once in between visits.

How difficult is it to delete a few emails? It's a doddle. When you think of the s**t that lands on your doormat - now that's annoying.

I had  few issues with the smart setting getting enabled by itself - changed it back to daily and all was good
