Not wanting to derail Tom strawberry milk thread but after reading some comments; does mixing and bottling say 200ml take longer to steep than 20ml?

I found that quite interesting too and not something I had really thought about before... I guess the answer lies in the general rules for all chemistry... Of which I have absolutely no clue! Following with interest

I've never mixed more than a 100ml of one flavour at a time, mainly because I'm in need of a change after 20ml of anything no matter how much I like it.
But I didn't find a 100ml took any longer than 10ml . . . . although I still think that glass bottles could possibly slow the steeping time down with Custards and the like.
