Ok, so I've finally given in and got an evic vt after trying someone else's, but after using it for a couple of days find it's giving a dry, unsatisfying vape with stock coils or even with one I made with ni200 in my ubertoot. Any ideas why? Also getting a really dry mouth

Thought I had just posted this but its disappeared. Anyway I've finally got a vt device, the evic but it's giving a really dry flavourless vape weather with stock coils or builds. Tried every wattage/temp combo and either get nothing or plumes but no decent dense vapour like im used to with kanthal. Is it me or what? Locked the resistance etc etc and tried ni and ti coils + ni200 build on my ubertoot but can't get anywhere near satisfying vape. Really disappointed

Not had an Evic VT, but a common problem is not to have enough surface area on your coil if the heat is not spread out enough the temp limit will cut in too quickly. Try adding at least 25% surface area to the coil, adding wraps and/or diameter, if space is tight you may need to reduce the wire thickness.

What atty are you using on it? Did you get the *full* kit with the eGo one mega? Or are you trying another tank?

Got the full kit and have the same problem with the stock and builds. Using 7 spaced wraps of 28 guage at 0.13 in the builds

Using 7 spaced wraps of 28 guage at 0.13 in the builds Looking on SteamEngine that seems to be a 4 mm diameter coil OK for 17 W - 22 W, if you want say 30-40 W on a 4 mm coil using 28 AWG try 13 wraps. I would get thinner wire myself.

Using 7 spaced wraps of 28 guage at 0.13 in the builds I, personally, don't get on with the eGo one mega, although DiscoDes loves his. Maybe you should try a different tank, or a dripper. I love my Cthulhu and Zephyrus tanks on it (but they are both dual coil), and any decent dripper, single or dual coil. Like VapingBad said, get as many coils or winds in as you can afford to. More surface area means better temp reading and better flavour. HTH

As a recent convert and "veteran" of the grand total of three TC builds I have to say my experience is the exact opposite of yours. I picked up an Evic VTC Mini a few days ago and some 5mm Titanium wire, 6/7 wraps on a 2.5mm screwdriver with muji and I'm loving life! I have my builds in subtanks from 0.14-0.16 ohms at 25 watts 450-550 f and it's simply magic, stacks of flavour and a quite silly amount of vapour. My coils are very close but not touching. Sounds like it could be a wicking thing? Try turning up the temp and lowering the watts, that way it'll take you longer to hit the temp, that seems to be working for me. Keep on with it, it reall really is worth it.

Particularly it is a sign of not enough surface area, it could also be airflow, wicking or the mod, but these are easier to spot. Temp limiting will cut the power if the wire is getting too hot and it is better to spread that heat than to override the temp limit or turn down the power. As I said above more wraps and/or increased coil diameter are the easy ways, thick wire can make it more difficult.

No idea crin766 as I've not got one . . . . but a little bumples for anyone who does and may be able to assist. DiscoDes is a font of knowledge on the device. ETA: I've discovered your second thread and merged them into the one Crin.

What tim said above...... I don´t either........I find it doesn't produce enough flavour and has been sat on the shelf pretty much since I got it.

My full evic vtc mini kit is still on its way from FT so I am following this thread and thinking that I should have just ordered the mod only option. Have any of you tried the ego one mega with a kanthal build rather than either the stock TC coils or a TC build?

Just chucked a ni200/kanthal tiger coil in the ubertoot which came out at 0.16 Ohms and seems better but still not convinced yet

I'm happy with them as they are for the moment but when I get home (working away, no pliers or stronger glasses just my readers and a single little blue job) I'm gonna get some 4mm wire and have some fun. Considering I'm doing it wrong I'm still impressed with the vape. Very impressed. Chris.
