Got 2 mods this week both TC...One is the evic mini and the other a D2 Both go down to .05 Ohm, so wired up the velocity and it was reading just above .05 Used it last night on the evic without any problem, so this morning thought I would get to grips with the D2 Put the velocity on the D2 and it read .047 and gave me an 'atomizerlow' warning. Fair enough I thought...it was right on the limit. So rewired the velocity and this time it read .07 Back on the D2, read the coil....it says .055. O.K. that will do. Pressed the fire button and was greeted with a 'short' warning Checked atty, couldnt see a problem, back on and still 'short'.... Right so its reading .055 and its saying 'short' not 'atomizerlow' Confused, I put the atty back on the evic and it fires away without any issue. What do you think may be happening with the D2??? Edit: The D2 works in power mode ok.

Loose wire first comes to mind, either at the ends where they are tightened or two of the 'loops' in the coil are very close and sometimes touching, giving different readings?
All i can think of having neither of those mods.

Probably teaching "granny to suck eggs" (what a stupid saying) here, but your battery is top notch?
and does the same atty work on the D2 in power mode?

All i can think of having neither of those mods. Am using the atty on the evic so it is working on another mod. Could be a touching loops thing, not enough experience with TC to know if it would cause the mod to read 'short'. I will rewire the atty if nothing is mentioned that could also be the cause. Thanks Probably teaching "granny to suck eggs" (what a stupid saying) here, but your battery is top notch? and does the same atty work on the D2 in power mode? No robby you have good reason to ask, I have an old efest purple in there Nothing but the best for me. Not tried the same atty in power mode as I would need to rewire it, but it is working ok on the evic in TC mode and I have a kathal build on the D2 right now that is working ok.

OMG just put the atty on the evic and the screen went 'bonkers'....started scrolling from left to right with nonsense. Had to turn it off and luckily it came back normal....Maybe I should rebuild that atty?

I would rebuild the Atty at around 0.2 ohms and try it again, just to give the d2 a bit of leeway. At these sort of resistances it doesn't take much for the chip to read lower.

I would trust the EVic more than the D2, if you are recoiling measure on both with no coil and the top cap fitted, I assume you have locked res if required (I don't really like res lock, but some boards need it). Trust your own eyes if it works on 1 and not the other it is not the coils, could be the 510 interface though or pressure on the centre pin hence checking with no coil.

Right when I check with no coil I get 'checkatomizer' or 'noatomizer' depending on what mod. Does that mean the 510 and pin are O.K.? as that is what I would expect to see....Oh hold on...So if the D2 says short when the coils are in then its not just a case of it not reading the atty...is that right???

It is hard to tell from a distance, if the Evic screen hadn't had a fit I would just put it down to P4U quality.

I would dig out an atty with under the screw head connections, I did see a guy with a problem with high res on a HCigar VT200 and Velocity a couple of days ago. If you have any one local with a DNA200 you can watch the atty res on a computer to see if it is drifting when idle or when fired. Failing that maybe get it working on the Evic and if that works with out problems let it cool and try the D2 again.
You can also check how accurate the res is by doing a cotton test it should start to discolour around 420 F, if a lot higher than it is reading res high and vice versa. When comparing 2 devices with a cotton test it is important to fire for the same amount of time every time, I like 10 seconds.

IT LIVES I think I would have thrown a fit if it had been a faulty mod after the SMY fiasco and waiting 2 months for this thing. Cheers guys, for your help. Better get that other coil in there.

did you check the screws ??? ..think one of them from your deck doesn't ''touch'' well the coil. Also touch your coil with your screwdriver . take out cotton and try your coil ....f..k ..bad english...i'm tired
