Now these two (now) old fashion tanks with a duel build in I up the watts and press the fire button and get a worthy hit. Now I have either fecked 4 builds up or this tank don't cut it for me for a duel, either way I'm out...!

I need a new atty that just does as it's supposed to and gives fantastic flavour.

So are these just like the subtank for flavour ? Would I be wasting my money if I got one then. Properly wicked and coiled they are in my opinion better than the subtanks for direct lung vaping. The subtank will have it on mouth to lung though I will give it a try, I only had them max 4 mm poking out the top, do you put them near to posts or more toward the edge? It did surprise me as most people seem to prefer the vertical, but when you have a couple vaping just so the motivation to experiment disappears. ETA and rewicking the horizontal is so easy.

I build nickel coils around a 3.5mm screw, the screw is pulled forward as far as the base allows and the tops of the coils are level with the tops of the posts.

Cheers, I did 2 mm with short legs, couldn't be much more different I just love the fast heat up with 2 mm wicks though.

Greetings all, I received one of these tanks as a pressie and was initially excited about my first foray into 'proper' sub-ohm vaping. I use kanger stm's but despite trying every wicking method have never got above 12-13 watts without dry hits and scorching. I watched a bunch of videos and read a lot of stuff on the aromamizer and decided to build twin 0.4 3mm vertical coils which came out at 0.6 ohms. I carefully wicked and trimmed the tops flush with the the V2 posts, set my mod to 20w and fired her up. Loads of vapour but no flavour to speak of. Crept it up to the maximum heat I could stand (30w) but very little improvement. Vaped the 6mm tankful in shockingly short time, I'd say this thirsty boy would gulp 30 ml a day easily!! Washed the tank out and refilled with the same result. That's where I'm at with it at the moment. Wicks really well but only 2 out of 10 for flavour. I must be doing something wrong I suppose, but haven't got it sussed yet. All in all, a big disappointment considering the hype about this tank.

How have you got the airflow set? In my experience flavour suffers if you have lots of air and are taking huge lung inhales. Maybe try reducing the air a bit? I tend to run mine with tape stuck over two of the holes. Having said all that, this type of tank will never be a flavour machine IMHO.

Hi reefcat, I received two air control bands with mine, the two and four hole. The four was much too airy for me. My comments above are based on the two hole one. Nice boat btw!

This is how I like them, I have a wrap or two less with twisted Ni. I seem to be in the minority finding the horizontal build better, I find that it can take more power and has much better flavour. These plots are exactly the same size and wire the only difference is the placement of the coils, but I still have to try blakey 's vertical build. I am still a fan. ETA I have the airflow ring completely off with the horizontal as the build restricts the airflow to just how I like, mild direct ling inhale.

Havn't got much experience with nickel builds VB, I want to like this tank as it was gifted. Think I have some ni200 somewhere, I'll look it out and try the horizontal coils. I dry burn my kanthal coils every two days on my kanger sub tanks Does nickle gunk up as quickly?

There is no reason you can't do similar build with Kanthal, but a warning the Ni build are 0.05 ohm and not many mods will fire that low for temp limiting Ti is probably a better bet for most people, you can run it on a Ni profile by just reducing the temp by about 90 F.

Thanks for that VB, my sigelei 75 does go down to .05 but not sure I want to! I will have a play around on Steam Engine and hopefully come up with something.

I dry burn my kanthal coils every two days on my kanger sub tanks Does nickle gunk up as quickly? Sometimes the air hole doesn't line up with the coil. Try marking the base in line with the coil and then screw on the tank and unscrew till the air hole meets the mark that you made. That could well be what's causing your flavour issue. Personally I use the two hole band and I make sure that the hole is directly in front of the coil, I build the coils high be they vertical or horizontal - level with the top of the posts.
