Thanks tomj777 for your (as usual) eloquent description of the TPD Directive. OK, I should 'fess up here, maybe using the term "post-Armageddon" was a little misleading and I take your point @yinyang that a 150w dual-18650 mod is no better in real terms than a 75w Sigelei like mine, but it will future-proof me a bit. I think the point here is not how many watts I have in my (large) pocket, but rather the total lack of certainty any of us have over how the TPD will be enacted. It may happen gradually, it may be 'light-touch', it may be draconian in its dealing with the vaping community. Even over the last month or 6 weeks attitudes towards vaping have seen a marked change with the Public Health England statement on e-cigarettes and the subsequent 'reportage' issued in the popular press. Having a TC mod capable of taking two batteries and packing more watts than I currently need is maybe OTT, but who knows how TC vaping will take off, who knows what other changes and improvements will happen over the next 6 to 9 months before the TPD is due to be introduced to us. I think I'm just playing safe here, and I should at this point apologise to all who snorted into their coffee when they read my post some 9 months ago asking who on Earth needs a mod with more than 40w of power!! I am already using my Sig at 60w+ to fire my Velocity dripper with Nickel coils, and this is way outside my previous parameters

Hi peeps. I also looking at these mods, found these video`s which might help you decide.
NB: The Segelei 150TC does not allow for usage of `titanium` coils. Only Kanthal & Nickel.

What's your thoughts so far? You narrowed it down to the same 2 as me? Have you a final winner yet?

My "post-Armageddon" buy was this little mech box mod, twin 18650 and very little to go wrong (and easily fixable if it does), it is now sitting in its box awaiting D day.

Haha, well peter12, being a tightwad, I'm very tempted by the Smok X-Cube II for about £35 from Gearbest, as linked at the top of this thread. Been watching some reviews and they are all quite complimentary and no major issues, so I might have to hit the button At least this way, I will still have some vape budget left over for another mod at some time in the future.

Which mod is that, Q ? I rather like. chykensa I'm still in that "why on earth does anyone want to go beyond 40 watts?" stage (I vaguely remember your post). Mind you, I also don't quite understand the whole lung-inhale thing.... it's not like we taste more, is it ( ? ) and it seems to me that it's better to breathe in only some of the vapour rather than all of it.... The gain, I guess, is that worst case Armageddon scenario where us flavour aware vapers staying on the right side of the market (i.e. not the black market) and buying our little pots of 20mg unflavoured VG or PG diluted liquid in six years time (when all our remaining freezer stocks have a really worrisome smell) and thus stringing the contents of the 10 empty 10ml bottles along by pulling down our usual, say, 12mg/ml mixes into 3mg/ml mixes with cup cake flavourings (going to be a pain for me as I rather like my tobacco juices). Thank you for the complement. peter12 dual batteries will either give you more amp hours (nearly double, I think) if placed in parallel or twice the volts if placed in series (so more watts for your resistance).

This is one of the primary reasons for going dual for me. It depends on what you mean by "last longer" ... if you mean will twin batteries last longer than a single battery before needing recharged when used at the same power setting and the same coil resistance then the answer is yes because you have twice the mAh capacity. If you mean will the batteries have a longer life (last for more charge cycles) then I would imagine not.

Choices so far appear to be Xcube sigelei Ipv3 li ipv 4s possibly clouper gt 80. lower watts but seems very small and cheaper. although it may be rubbish? The Cloupor GT has some good reviews. Owners seem particularly impressed with it's auto joules function. If it lasts as long as my mini, it would be the only dual battery mod I would buy. But I'm a bit leery of lugging huge mods about.

If you're future proofing yourself against needing more watts i would say a DNA200.
