Bought a couple of these around mid February. From new, they had collections of small cracks around the base of the tank. They grew slowly and I ended up with two larger cracks on each which rose above the knurled section of the base. The first one I trashed by dismantling it, so I'm not sure if it was leakng because of the cracking. The second has just begun to leak from one of the cracks , albeit only a drop forming slowly over a few minutes. My understanding is that the problem is limited to a rush batch made last month, so I'm wondering if anyone has seen cracks around the base on their more recent purchases.

I've been wondering about that stuff - what is it chemically, and how is it used. Maybe you can do a photo how to on the next one

I just put a sticky tape tightly around one of mine which had started to sweat juice..
Seems to have done the trick so far..

I think I am gonna forget about rewicking this one.. Ordered a shed load from HC yesterday with their 15% discount offer so should keep me in stardusts for a while.. I am just gonna shove the innards in a syringe of the right size with some minor modifications and they should be good to go..

I syringe modded some of the early CE2's and that worked a treat.

I bought 6 of these from the early batch that was cracking prone and sure enough so far three have cracked, one I lost, one is unused and the last is currently crackfree. I have temporarily mended two of the cracked ones by wrapping the afflicted area with PTFE tape - so far so good. No leaking and supposidly the tape is chemically inert. Cheers, DocVape

Well, I've vaped it dry, given it a rinse out and was about to smear it with superglue and just checked back here. All great suggestions, but for me the winner has to be a bit of condom as it is juice safe and will compress the tank and hopefully stop the cracks from propagating. Plus it's my fave repair medium It takes a bit of wigggling to get it over the affected area , but that just means it will be applying a fair amount of pressure.

Got to say i like this fix,Does not cost anything as we all have condoms already,Does the fix and i like the fact it makes it almost nonslip.
