Hello to all at AAE-C. I found the site on Friday searching for new Cartomiser parts for my E-Cig. Have been smoking real cigs, cigars and pipes for 40+years, probably average of 30+ a day & have stopped a few times, all by Cold Turkey. The most recent bout being 2 years in March this year, was in Benidorm for 40th Wedding Anniversary & had a try at a "Mod"(?) by memory and liked it, though that was that till 6 weeks ago. Thought I would have no problems finding the make of the E-Cig on the Web, that is why I spent 3 days reading all relevant Beginner Threads hoping to find the make in the various models you have pictures of etc. Watched quite a few How-To you-tube vids, that part of dismantle/rebuild is fine as I am from a Technical Background so I would be fine. The first e-cig I tried was a "Blu"300 puff £6.00p disposable but it got dismantled for future info, that brings me to the questions about the Disposable E-Cigs that I have been using for the past 6 weeks:- 1) They were called ezi-cig, manufactured in China & Imported to UK by(will name if OK by Admin.).They were in a blister pack with 510 battery,60mm long.+ 10 Cartomiser Refills, that had a separate attachment element with a tri-angle metal piece with a grey metallic coating which then pierced the foil of "D"shaped plastic insert, this popped on to cartomiser & had thread to connect to 510 battery to make whole e-cig. They came in 2 strengths, High & Medium. They were sourced from a"Poundshop" & cost £1.00p per pack, some packs actually had the e-cig+charger(USB)+10 refills or just 10 refills both only a pound. Oh they were 105 puffs per catridge, were a bit hit & miss, though at a sixth of initial cost of Blu-cig I found that 2 of them equalled the same puff number of weaker Blu-cig. 2) I now have 8-510 batteries & 10 empty cartomisers. I have just re-fill 6 drops of 24mg/pg tobacco juice in one refill & hey presto it is working great guns, it will do for when my new kit needs charged.
3) Went yesterday an got basic starter kit locally for £13.00p, which comprised of 1no.Infinity Tank,1.6ml capacity + 1no 650mAh battery good for 300 charges.+3no.x 10ml juice re-fills. I am happy with this in the meantime & will buy 1no spare battery in a few days. Any idea approx. cost of the battery alone ?.
Well that will do for now, thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard willbear & very well done on stopping smoking. I'm sorry I have no idea about cigalikes, although I started on skycigs originally but soon found kit that was so much better and more satisfying. Hopefully someone else will be along soon to answer your question. In the meantime enjoy your vaping journey, there's never been a more enjoyable way to do yourself a lot of good.

Welcome and congratulations to you willbear. I'm assuming these are the Ecigs from the Pound Shop you've bought? www.discount-wholesale.co.uk/shop/ezi-cig_b01.htmYou'll find that there's considerably better equipment available to us, which will make vaping instead of smoking even more pleasurable - as and when you're ready to take the next step.

Welcome willbearWe're pleased you have found us. I'm not really sure I can comment that much on what you have bought and are buying. I know that Blu are dreadful and over-priced tobacco company products. I know the cheap end of refillable the e-cig market is hit and miss. Sometimes we get lucky, but not often in all honesty. What can I add? I spent £500 or more on high street products and never quit smoking. What most enthusiastic vapers (committed, long time ex-smokers) use is more often than not bought from specialist shops or online. Your average eGo 650 battery will manage about 100 charges and then lose power and life. However, tanks (clearomisers) are the way forward. I vape for peanuts (low £) using tanks that have replaceable atomizers and liquid that costs 75p-£1.85 (Hangsen) or £1 (one pound e-liquid company) with the occasional bottle of expensive stuff for pleasure. Mostly it's just going about my day having a few puffs, staying off the fags and minimising expenditure. There are many, many cowboys out there ready to take your cash. The worst are actually the self-proclaimed "high quality" brands. Examples of brands I would never use are some of the most famous, I guess. Vapouriz, Apollo, 10 motives, Cirro, Nu-cig, KiK, the list goes on. It's all old tech kit for muchas monedas - it exists to make them money rather than get you successfully transitioned onto Vaping 100%. - - - My advice, always is to buy a nice battery (2 or 3 really) some nice tanks (3 or 4) and Vape On! Liquid doesn't have to cost £4.95, and certainly not the £6.95 that some high street brands think is the going rate.

Hello & welcome willbear As others have said, there are far better e-cigs out there, but if you are happy with what you have, then stick with it

willbear i'm assuming the starter kit you're asking about batteries for is one of these? If you don't mind waiting a while like maybe several weeks for delivery you can get the batteries cheap from China Pack of 8 650mAh batteries here for example for £27 www.fasttech.com/products/3001/10007379/1617200Search on the site for Evod or Ego batteries and you'll find a load of options including larger capacity options and variable voltage batteries, just twist the bottom of the battery and you can adjust the voltage output. Or UK stockist myepack.co.uk/batteries/evod-battery-650-mah.html

and well done for quitting the cigs. I'll leave the advice to others with far more knowledge than me, only been vaping 5 and a half weeks myself, but I do know (and learnt here) that decent kit made a huge difference for me. That said, whatever works for you is great, keep it up and good luck!

willbear - hi and a warm welcome from me too! Well done on quitting the stinkies, and if you are happy with what you have, then go for it! However, by the time you have spent money on a couple of cheap batteries which need charging every 6 hours or so, and some tanks for juice which are essentially disposable (once the coil head is gunked up with the deposits from your e-juice, then they can't be replaced), you would do as well to get a better battery and tank system which will give you a far superior vape for not much more outlay. If you decide to upgrade to something more up-to-date (the 'cig-a-like' is classed as First Generation, the tanks and batteries we would recommend would be Second or Third), please please ask here first before spending that money. We have between us loads of experience and can point you in the right direction for good quality equipment and juice at the best possible prices. You don't need to be recoiling and rewicking unless you want to; there are plenty of alternatives out there which will be easier and more convenient which will provide a great vape. Lastly, please don't hesitate to ask questions - that's what we are all here for!!
