Hi and scubadude have you tried many "one shot" flavours from the likes of T-Juice? I ask as the flavours will be tried and tested and it's only down to the % of flavours that you mix in to your base. I use T-Juice Red Astaire at 18% and it's great for me, however if I vape it all day the flavour disappears so I switch to another flavour then back (like you do) also a fresh wick/clean tank helps loads. DiscoDes I have tried T-Juice's Vamp Vape at 20% and it seemed to hold it's strength of flavour better than my DIY juices. Unfortunately I bought it for the name, and wasn't too keen on the taste. What I have done recently is buy 3 Decadent Vapours concentrates, Lime Zinger, Purpello and Sherbet Lemon. So will give them a try at recommended percentages (steeping slowly without whisking), and see how they turn out.

Found the video ! 'I'm whisking a good deal of the flavour out (in the aeration of it)' makes sense to me, and I was just about to start doing it having moved from mixing in bottles to mixing in measuring jars, when I saw this:Not sure it's an absolute, I know some people swear by whizzing, but, I allways think if what your doing is not working, try something else! Be interested to hear if your experiment works! Cant seem to get the video to work, but here is the text link "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzODbmZnyTY&feature=youtu.be"

I vape custard just about all the time its my ADV only break I take is when I'm asleep.
What recipes are you following? and are you upping the creams in them? as I feel that can mute the flavour, If a custard is too strong I'll use a vanilla mix or smooth to flatten it out.
In your recipes are you using the correct make of juice that’s mentioned in the recipe?

Very interesting experiment. I'll certainly give anything a go to bet better juice

In your recipes are you using the correct make of juice that’s mentioned in the recipe? Hi whiteclouds. A while back I was watching a bloke called Les Picken (juice mixing club) on youtube, and had a go at one of the DIY custard recipe's the he recommended in one of his video's (recipe 4. time 26mins,20secs) here
I left to steep for 2 weeks, but it wasn't the full flavour custard I hoped to get (maybe down to my frothing the life out of it). After a further steeping for 6 weeks the flavour improved slightly, but still not super custardy. The ingredients were as follows (all capella): custard V1 @8%, custard V2 @3%, simply vanilla @3%, vanilla cupcake @3%, caramel @2.5%, cake batter @1.5%, butter @1% I think that my best bet would be to try one of the good custard recipe's on AAEC and leave to steep without frothing. Any recommendation on which to try?

I've done every Custard recipe here bar the ones with fruit, there isnt a bad one amongst them they’re all good! scroll down the page as there are more without fruits (where it mentions sweetener 1% I use 1 - 2 drops EM per 20ml I find it is very sweet) There is a lot of vanilla in there which will smooth/tame the custard, if you think whisking it caused issues try without whisking.

Thank you whiteclouds I think I will start over again with a custard recipe from here. By doing that it should give me a good baseline on what to expect from a good recipe. I also going to steep without whisking. Thanks for heads up re the vanilla content and the extra tip re the EM

I do whisk my Afro because I mix so much in a jug and it doesn't blend well without doing it before decanting... Oh well...anyway.
Yea I haven't made a bad custard yet from the recipes here, also learnt and I know tastes in subjective but if I add 5% of Cap sweet cream to any custard it tastes bloody nice.

I've got some Vanilla Whipped Cream to try next from Capella . . . it'll get added to a Custard blend I'm thinking. The next project, along with Creamy Yoghurt . . . .

Perpetua it was your dear self that got me onto that one, I had a job lot of a basic grants clone which was ok then I broke it down into 5 bottles as you advised and added what I had to each, french vanilla delux, bav cream etc. All was nice but the one with 5% sweet cream was my favourite. Welsh custard @20, yea nice, sweet cream added nicer..... Have just recently made up a few myself now, never know might have a recipe worth sharing one day. Athough most are just variations on what I have learnt here...Looking forward to my letsavit lustard....basically it's kreed Kustard with sweet cream added...

Thanks for heads up re the vanilla content and the extra tip re the EM I'd mix up a strong custard mix from the ones listed in the recipe section and maybe work on the mix you already have I'd up the custard if thats what you feel is lacking, I've got Cap VC V2 and never used it yet, (I will get to it eventually), in my ignorance I don’t understand why he's got both in it, unless I'm wrong it kinda defeats the object considering why V2 was produced

I also may as well try to resurrect the custard juice I have by adding more custard. I don't know why Les Picken added both Capella custards into his recipe, it sure does defeat the object of the v2
