Wouldn't the HDD recorder be a digital reciever??? were you getting digital channels through the tv after you'd added that? BBC3 ITV 2 etc etc?

If so, then it could just be that the HDD recorder needs a retune... I know ours did a few weeks before the digital changeover was due.

Gordy #17 The HDD thingie is Targa DRH-5400 HDD/DVD - good ole Lidl!!
#18 Not quite of age for the help - another 2.5 years to 75!!

Alvoram #21 I've never tried to get digital progs. Only used the HDD to record daytime progs to watch in the night!!!

As I said, I think my best bet is to buy new TV and let a nice techy man come with it to install.

Hi MM looks like your Targa DRH-5400 HDD/DVD isnt digital ready either so you will need to get a new recorder... if you got a digital recorder then you could use that as your digital tuner and not need to get a digital telly

Awe Gordy - my 'ead hurts!!! I do think I want/would like a new TV - a bit bigger than the one I've got but not huge!! MMa

P.S. I've been quite happy without a TV - caught up reading several books, very enjoyable.
BUT ......I do like the dancing and skating progs.

Watch them on catchup on iplayer / ITV / Chanl 4 on your computer? Seems a good compromise to me! If you do want to watch Live TV on your computer then sign up with www.tvcatchup.com/ (takes seconds to sign up) and then just click on a channel and watch. Even works on a smartphone
