New to Vaping

Hi guys, I have just had a quick read through the beginners guide to vaping and although it helped, I am still pretty clueless as to where to start.

I'm not exactly a heavy smoker (probably around 10 a day) but am struggling to cut down or go cold turkey and thought I'd give vaping a try. The thing is.. I don't know where to start.

My mum started using the vape pens about 2 years ago and she is using the Cirro 2 (I think that's right) and it seems as though she never has problems and is getting on really well. Is this a good make or are there better ones? The thing I like about the one she has is that any other accessories from other pens seem to fit it, making the clearomisers (I hope I got that right), batteries etc easier to buy when she needs them.

I would appreciate any explanations or advice you could offer me. Thank you

The Cirro 2 is basically an Ego style battery with a CE5 clearomiser . . . . basic kit, which if it works for you then fair enough. There are considerably better options available, that will in turn give an improved vaping experience.

I'd suggest trying a mini Nautilus with an iStick . . . . either the 30 or 40 watt versions.

Depends on whether you'd like to make the greater investment initially.

I started on an ego style
Battery but was very on off with it. But when I went for something like Perpetua mentions, I realised I probably would have stuck with it more then as it is a much more enjoyable experience. Set yourself a budget and work from there and see what you can or cannot afford right now. You could even go for something like the istick mini which won't set you back a lot but like above, any istick is a great way to go and relatively inexpensive as it has a built in battery

Welcome to the forum startats101 . The Cirro as Perpetua says is just a CE5 clearomiser and by the looks of it a tiny battery. Lots of people here started on a similar kit. However some thing like this for £5 more Pro Tank starter kit will give you a much better experience and with spare coils.

If you did want to try something even better then the advice above is good

You also might want to try places such as one pound e liquid. I have recommended this site to a a lot of work mates as a good place to start with liquids. A huge range of cheap liquids, so it is not going to break the bank to try different flavours - and not bad at all (better than the £5 you will spend at a garage).

Remember come back here for more advice and help, some very knowledgable people here who are extremely friendly and supportive.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have had some good advice. It is very confusing when you start. Just understanding the language is bad enough. Then all the conflicting opinions. The mini Nautilus with an iStick is a really good place to start. Or you could go with the ELeaf GS air. The iStick and GS are made by the same company so some good deals on starter kits.

I can see a few of you have suggested the iStick and mini nautilus. Would you be able to tell me the best places to get these from and exactly what I need for it? I probably sound very stupid but I just don't understand how the parts go together and what accessories I will need for it when they stop working after a while.

Its a bl**dy minefield when you start looking at vaping, Soooo much kit to select from and more new stuff on the web pages on a daily basis.

i too started with an ego pen battery and plastic clearomiser, not the best about but not the worst either, ideally you want a battery/box that will last a day without needing a charge up and an atomiser made from more inert materials like Stainless steel and glass rather than plastics. but i wont add my recommendations as not to confuse, and its all good advise above.

the far east web stores like fasttech.com and gearbest.com can supply you with the hardware at a fraction of the UK high st price (if your lucky enough to have a local shop selling a full range) but will take a week or 2 to arrive on your doorstep.

It might be a bit of a headach sussing out whats what But IT IS WORTH IT!!

Just beware, vaping and chinese web stores full of bargains can combine into problem of collecting shiny bits like a magpie and you can soon spend all your backy savings..

I find "Vaping" is the answer to smoking, but don't expect it to happen overnight!
Your body will miss the tars and the 1000+ chemicals, but it will get the Nicotine and your hands will have something to do.
A lot of us have ventured into re-coiling, re-wicking and mixing our own juice, this is even more hands on.
Give it a fair chance and listen to the advice freely given.

I take it you've tried the kit your Mum is using ?
Is it okay for you or do you want something a bit better, like better battery life or a better taste from the eliquid ?

If you think it will work for you then get it and see how you get on for a month, they re not that expensive so worth a shot.
Reckon you can get a cheap starter kit for about the price of 20 fags so nothing to lose.

Want something a bit better ?
istick 30w and mini nautilis seem a popular combination.
istick 30w is the battery bit, can be charged up using your mobile phone charger, can be adjusted to give more power, and one charge should last you a decent length of time.
The nautilis mini is the clearomiser part and has replaceable coils, so instead of having to buy a new tank you just unscrew the old coil and screw in a new one when it wears out.

got me off the stinkies.
Like you I wasn't a heavy smoker, but had been smoking for 40 years 30 of them on rollies about 10-15 a day.
I had tried to quit a few years ago with a ego/pen style thing but didn't quite hit the mark so carried on smoking.
After joining the forum here and asking for advice I got myself a nautilus mini and istick 50w and by day three was off the stinkies
that was nine weeks ago.
