I'm normally from the 'put a jumper on then...' school of thinking. With the little ones, rooms are supposed to be kept about 18°C so the heating has been put on sparing the last few weeks.

Wot no woolly onesies, your raising wimps Tom only kidding, with little ones you get an 18 yr 'wimp pass', make the most of the next 5-6 years as you will loose control of the thermostat for at least a decade when they grow tall enough to reach it..

Been off and on for about a week, but is 100% going on tonight. Lovely warm day here ATM, but coming in very cold later.

Put it on a couple of weeks ago to keep Mum warm, I occupy the first floor so that's off, still walking around in a sleeveless gillett and short sleeve shirt when out. Dave

Mine goes on to dry the washing on a Friday night to Saturday so tonight I can wear my t-shirt otherwise it's off, close the windows, shove a jumper on & thicker socks for a while yet, can't stand the dry air it causes even with humidifiers hung on the radiators and I cannot stand getting into a warm bed - errghh

My heating goes on at the very last possible moment each year . . . . even then I generally build up to the moment by just having the gas fire on to begin with. Working by the doors in a supermarket which are continually opening/closing - to say nothing of the refrigeration and freezer units behind the Service Desk, you have to be quite hardy . . . . and have a choice of thermal undergarments to wear. So an unheated house actually feels quite cosy to me in comparison.
