It's crazy and the queues are snarling the roads up.. Just like New Year's eve and Christmas eve stock up..The shops only close for a bloody day! >

Ridiculous, they haven't even announced a strike, and if they do it won't be until April7 - most of those queueing today will have emptied their tanks by then.
I seem to remember there being rumours of a tanker strike about two years ago causing the same panic - just when fuel prices were at an all time high.
You have to ask yourself cui bono, and why is our government doing everything it can to make things worse?

Yep queues round here as well. Diesel had just about sold out at the garage I normally use, although I got my half a tank of unleaded all ok.

I went to Morrisons today and filled my works van up , it only took 5 minutes to get on a pump , I find it pretty damned annoying when people panic buy , if I can't fill my van up I can't work , my van is a tool of my trade not just an aid to get to and from work. I understand people also need to get to work but is it really necessary to go out and fill up "just in case" . IF there is going to be a strike it's not going to be for another 2 1/2 weeks , and it's reported that the Army are already on standby to take over the tanker driving should a strike occur , sheesh , rant over

Storm, where we stay the public transport is pants, so without our cars we can't get to work. It's even written in my contract that I must be prepared to be mobile and work in any of our locations. DH works full time and does a 50 mile round trip every day to get there and there is no way that he could use public transport

Chrissie keep the teapot on the boil , Storm is deffo hittin Cornwall for his early summer holidays Last thing that's needed is a storm in Cornwall in the summer. It's bad enough when the sea 'breezes' start, it can be a chilly place out in the remoter open spaces. Good job we don't need to go out much, our Subaru's a guzzler
