Total hypocrisy from Ebay

After having a number of mod listings removed on a couple of occasions by Ebay recently, I have been receiving a similar email from Ebay almost every day from them like the one above. Not always dollars, usually pounds from UK sellers.

ebay has always been like that, if someone thinks your selling to cheap they report you, if someone thinks your gear is genuine and theres is knock off they report you and so on, sometimes you don't get reported and nothing happens but the second someone reports your listing its gone bam nowhere to be found.... utterly stupid idea but that's the methodology they take /

Typical.

I know someone who imported an 'item' from China. It was the genuine, legit product.

They sold it for £29.99 and the 'other' company was selling for £39.99. They (the 'other' co.) dropped their prices, first to £34.99, then £31.99.

Disappointed they couldn't make enough profit (£25+ per item), they asked ebay to remove the listing for the other genuine item on the grounds it was a clone/fake.

ebay obliged. My friend had 400+ units and had been driven out of town.

They make it up as they go along.

robby & letsavit post I couldn't agree more about ebay's total hypocrisy concerning e-cigs - either they are banned according to their rules. or they aren't according to how much profit they want to make

FaceBook are like that, they ask if you want to promote your facebook page (promoting the sale of ecigs) for £3 per day to get more likes on youre page, then if you go through the process it comes up with a warning that your page may not get promoted because its selling one of their "prohibited items" Theyre still happy for you to go through with it though & enter any bank details.....then if you post the link around they ban you from promoting the link saying its unsafe.....even though its a link to a group/page on facebook ! ......my opinion on the idiots that make the rules for FB & Ebay.....

So if I list an item on ebay and specify I'll only deliver to the UK, I'm still restricted by retarded Yankee poodle pansy regulation?  Totally ridiculous.  Why should an UK to UK transaction fall foul of U.S. of A(nal) restrictions?

Decided to reply to thier email for what its worth.....

"You removed my item claiming it to be tobacco, an "evic mini" now do a search and you will find others. Why have you not implemented a ban on them, just me..implement to all or none.

they will tell you they cant ban listings unless they are reported because the computer that runs the site isn't self aware and cant perform proactively, that's why despite several restrictions people were selling guns and ammo on ebay in the UK for a few months (the plod liked the fact because they could track the idiots, arrest the sellers and swap the hardware for de-ac's then arrest the buyers...) your response from the computer will tell you, you have to perform the search then individually report each and every vendor...

There is no reason why it shouldn`t be able to be pro active with simple search filters. It`s financially convenient for Ebay to do that nanotm , cynical financial self interest.
