Hi guys
I have had a cough etc and a few bugs etc for last 6 months or so, so have decided to have a pop at giving up smoking, started looking into these e-cigs etc but I am a bit confused at the massive amount of stuff there seems to be around I thought it was maybe 3 or 4 options max but seems to be 100's I need whatever the starting kit is but I am on a major budget as out of work at moment, smoked for about 17 years or so used to be embassy/regal/benson/soverign then marlboro lights then for last 8/9 years rolling baccy with coconut cig papers and around 7/8 a day so spending about £20/25 per month, I got something called a vapestick from tesco at the weekend which is ok not a great taste or hit but its a start was £10 for a disposable one which is a bit much really but wanted to try something first before spending anything else
can't really afford more than £30/40 to start off with so need to be up and running for a few weeks before I have to spend anything again and want something that will get used and not be stuck in a drawer because its pants and i go back to fags
cheers

Hi Greeny and welcome. one of the most popular starter kits is the Riva from Vape Escape. i personally would suggest requesting the atomisers to be swapped out with cartomisers to make using it easier, Jason (from vapeescape) will happily do that for you if you all you'll need to get going then is some e-liquid ..i would recommend from the same store a pic n mix selection to give you some sort of idea or running costs you will probably use between 1-2ml of e-liquid per day and the cartomisers will last a week or two and then need to be replaced ...i cant recall how many Jason includes in the kit but it'll be plenty for a month or two ...replacements can be found herefeel free to ask questions on anything you dont understand

welcome greeny I think most people will echo gordy's suggestion quoting "allabout" for a 10% discount and do look around as there are a lot of bargains to be had www.ecigsforyou.co.uk/starter-kits is steve another friendly helpfull supplier use "allbout" for 10% www.freedomvape.co.uk/ is kev soon to be sunning it in spain supplier "Spain10" for 10% www.safercigs.co.uk/ is Daz use "safe10" for 10% off these are just a few of the reputable suppliers here and i assume these codes are valid more suppliers here www.allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=suppliers&action=display&thread=301&page=1Try not to get a look-a-like as they dont tend to perform/last as long as the egeo/riva style which is slightly longer and thicker but will last batterytime at least 3 to 4 times longer good luck in finding the kit there will be others along later to help too keep us informed and ask away anything you feel needs answering as there is always a willing member here to help you #icon_thumbsup#

Hi and welcome A lot of people stat (and stay) with the Riva and really enjoy it, the advice above is very good and should get you going. If you look through the pic n mix liquids and get a few to try out for now and see which you like, you can then start buying liquid in larger bottles which will work out cheaper. If funds can run o it, chuck in a vision to try, they are so easy to fill, the flavour is beautiful as well, and they last pretty well too, just remember the discount codes

I use an Echo, having started with a standard 510 and have used Gold/Silver juice.

Greeny I very recently discovered vaping and went quickly from look-alike to Riva. It was the best £43 I have spent in a long time (and that 43 included 5 juices from the pik-n-mix). A word of advice on juices - don't try to find something that tastes like your baccy brand. For a start you won't find it, and secondly most people find they much prefer things that don't taste like tobacco.... it makes the switch easier. I went for a range from the pik-n-mix that included coffee, chocolate, cherry etc Keep asking questions, people are very keen to help

Hello & welcome Greeny I've nothing to ad to the excellent advice already given, just wanted to say hello & please don't hesitate asking any questions Ooh just one thing to add, if you go for the Riva kit linked to in Gordy's post, & ask for the atomisers to be swapped for cartomisers, you will be sent 10 cartomisers in the kit. Plus as others have said, don't forget to use the discount code allabout for 10% off. Hello & welcome to Glynwhite as well

Welcome all. Good advice already given - the Riva's are great. All I would add is that if you are going for cartomisers, don't forget to get a 510 drip tip to stick in the end of them - hot metal is not great in the mouth!

I have to add my voice to the Riva camp, they are great! Definately worth the money Most of the suppliers have discount codes and some have free P & P, so even though you are spending, you are saving money in the long run to the forum btw

Hi. As a new vaper I can really recommend the Riva. I got myself a starter kit which looked like a cigarette and the battery life was so short and frustrating that I upgraded to the Riva within a few days. I can't recommend it enough. I find the cartomisers are fine, but love the Riva combined with a Vision clearomiser - so easy to fill and you can see when the juice is running dry which makes it easy peasy for newbies My husband has also decided to take the plunge from his rollies - but only once I got the Riva. It gives a great vape!

Hello & General cost advice is that it's about £10 - £12 a week to run a Riva with cartos to satisfy what was a 20 a day habit. This can be reduced by mixing your own juice and careful use and maintenance of cartomisers. I have been using a Stardust atomiser/tank lately and a small 3.5 ml tand with dual coil cartomiser and have been getting aroud 2 weeks usage before needing to replace the carto in the tank or rewick and coil the Stardust. I reckon you could alst halve your running costs if you are careful.

Des is right, if you are careful & don't get tempted into buying one new thing after the other, you will save a heck of a lot of money I used to smoke on average 50 cigs a day At todays costs, that's about £115.00 a week With careful buying, I reckon I'm spending less than £10.00 a week.
