I have some small and cheap but perfectly good usb 2 speakers for my laptop. They make whirring and buzzing noises a lot of the time. Having done a bit of digging, I think the problem is down to the laptop trying to give them as much power as it can, so the power is fluctuating all the time. Headphines are OK. So I want to plug the speakers into a usb wall socket.
Can anyone advise on a socket from FT which will do the job.

Anything written on the speakers?, montyUSB 2.0 was designed for up to 5 loads of 100mAh, so the speakers can't need crazy power.... even a 500mAh wall adapter might do it. Have you got an old (ish) wall adapter for mobile phone? (something not attached directly to the mini usb)... Sony? Samsung? Is your laptop USB 3.0 by any chance?
