Hey guys, Hope you all had a GREAT Christmas and vape-clause brought you something nice. Anyway to what I was wanting to hear your opinions on. I know that the battery plays a big part in how good a vape is but concentrating on the tank and coil which do you think is the main component that generates the best vape. You could have the latest most expensive tank in the world but if the coil is no good then it tastes rubbish and on the other hand you could have a rubbish looking bog-standard generic tank and if you put a good coil in to it it works great. So if you had to choose which one is the deciding factor in giving you the best vape, would it be: Tank? or Coil? or maybe its both

tank, you could wrap a coil blindfolded in the dark and aslong as air passes through or over it you will get a decent vape

Spot on. The battery plays a small part, any will do if it's powerful enough.

In my experience its both to a degree. For example a 2mm coil in a kayfun will give a different vape to a 3mm coil. But I exclusively use 2mm coils with similar wicking in everything from egrips to kayfuns etc and all tanks will give a different taste to the same juice at the same wattage/voltage.

the quality of the vape to me is based on the drip tip, having a very limited supply of tanks (nautilus mini + subtank) I have found the vape improves massively by changing the drip tip, I hated using the supplied ones and since I invested in a few angled units I can now vape away without any danger of hot blobs,
the coils define which type of juice I use, high ohms = high pg

As said, it's a bit of both. Coil and tank. Although I personally believe the tank more so than the coil, but to each vaper it will be different.
My reasoning for this is RDA's for example. You can put the "same" coil in two different RDA's and they will taste completely different. So the design of the chamber makes a huge difference. And so this carries over onto tanks too.

I think the tank plays the biggest part in getting a great vape, and especially the size and shape of the chamber. With a good tank or dripper you can often get away with some sad and misshapen coils and still get a satisfying vape.

I think it's a combination of everything. Certainly for high performance sub-ohm setups.
The combination of juice flow, air flow, tightness of the coil (so it heats up from the inside out), the tightness of the wick in the coil, how the wick is sitting in the juice channels etc all play a part in performance. Any one of these that are lacking will affect the vape.

Tank for me. I can put the exact same coil in all sorts of rebuildable tank but i always get the best vape from a Kayfun.

a combination of both but you could have the best tank and coil only to be let down by a poor wick

Both, the tank defines the limits but you can't modify most them much, the coils on the other hand you can change/optimise in almost endless ways so is futile ground for vaper's endeavours, but no amount of coil artistry can overcome the limits of the tank/atty.

fused claptons are my new fave as they quick to knock up you do need both but tbh what is a good tank, dont leak would be nice lol as well as air flow and build space and what do you mean by good vape, flavor, clouds or both clouds is easy now thanks to subtanks but a lot of them are muted on the flavor(spesh for amount of juice your using) and like to spit hot juice in yer gob flavor is norm a mtl/mouth to lung tank with much less airflow and a higher ohm coil trying to build different types of coils is half the fun of vaping to me
