Hello people,
I've been been sub ohm vaping for 2 months now and so far bought 4 mods )istick 60w(crap battery life), istick 100w(good device) kanger kbox platinum 60w(not bad), evic vtc mini(very good)along with 3 tanks - melo 2 , triton 2 and the crown
After all the reviews on you tube you would think the crown is the best thing since sliced bread so it was my latest purchase about 3 weeks ago. I use it on an i stick100w and all the reviewers state it needs to be run at higher wattages, in fact uwell recommend vaping it at 70-80watts with 0.5ohm coils(80-90w with the 0.25 ones).....I therefore started using it at 70w with the 0.5 and I agree the flavour/clouds are great but when you can vape a full tank in under an hour the cost of using it is now getting crazy...Am I the only one who finds it a fortune to use??? Oh and I cannot get a coil to last longer than about 5 days before burnt hits( yes I am priming coil correctly and building up wattage to slowly break it in) so with coils and juice I am left with no choice but to give up on it. Am I doing something wrong????
The triton2 (with 0.5 clapton coils at £16.99 a pop for a pack of 5) had good reviews but again it can go through juice even at the recommended 40-45watts on an evic vtc mini and the flavour I get from this is always muted (apart from the first day I had it when flavour was pretty good) and I have had 4 coils in it in 3 weeks and good ejuice (element/the neighbourhood/loads of other premium brands)- getting fed up with it all now but don't want to go back smoking, all I want is a satisfying vape on a regular basis!!!
Alternating between 2 devices and already been through 7 coils in under a month..WTF??
If anyone can advise/help direct me as to what I should do next in pursuit of a satisfying vape I would really appreciate it as I am spending more now on vaping than I ever did on cigs and I
am at a loss as to what to try next.
Sorry for the long winded message, I'm just all out of options.

Crown and Triton are very thirsty tanks. I get 4-6 weeks from a coil (0.25) from the crown and 4-5 weeks from the triton coils (0.4). Get coils from Fasttech much cheaper than UK Running both at 50-60W.
Making your own juice is cheaper than buying pre-made.

This situation you face vapemeister69 is the main reason that I only buy tanks with RBA options and I DIY my own juice. This way I can keep costs down as much as possible and I can then vape as much as I feel I want to without worrying too much about the occasional coil and rewicking a couple of times a week per tank. Even at Fasttech prices, I couldn't carry on if I had to pop in a new coil in each of my 4 or 5 tanks every week!!

your lucky as no matter what i try i can go above 50watts without burning the coils. ive now bought from myepack, ecigone, sr vapes and dna vapes and all exactly the same. 1 coil might last 2 days and anoter a week or two but much over 50 and they start burning. at first thought it could be the istick 100 but now tried on my RX200 as well. tried all sorts of vg/pg mix and all the same. and like a muppet i bought another crown as a backup.
ill still use it as i think it gives the best flavor but am using tvf4 a lot more lately.

I rebuild my coils for the crown, I found If you use a flat head screwdriver you can push the coil and wick out carefully from the bottom, I put the coil in an rda and give it a quick blast and put it under the tap, repeat a few times.. The coil is good as new then just cut a strip of cotton the size of the coil and re wick.. Always found mine better than when you buy them too

I normally use the Crown at 38-46w dependent on the liquid I am vaping at the time. Coils last a good 3-4 wks and flavour is the best I have experienced from a tank. I have never gone any higher wattage wise as I can tell straight away your going to start getting dry hits.
Infact the only tank I have come across that does match the makers claims concerning higher wattage is the TFV4, and normally used at 80w with the quad or triple coils. This tank can, and I have been upto 100w easily with the TFV4 coils, I just don't find it very flavoursome, especially at those wattages.
Juice consumption is of no problem as I DIY all my liquids.

hi, to be honest I think that the cloud chaser high wattage tanks and coils are far far from being satisfying. The first thing you do is drop your nic content, increase VG (decrease flavour) and after a long inhale....blow it all out ASAP. It seems all the sub-ohm tanks are about is 'clouds' nothing to do greatly with 'flavour', when you are vaporising that much juice at once you have to get an increase of flavour! Unless you are throwing 120w at a TFV4 then there really does seem to be little else but vapour, definitely a tank that gets a big MEH from me Chain vaping 3-6mg nic? Forget hobby vaping and use 12mg/15mg, get ya nicotine, blow ya head off in a couple of puffs, put your vape down and when your head stops spinning find something else more important to do. RTA / RBA with homemade juice is the route to take if you want to puff away 10-20ml of juice every day, essentially £1.50-£2 per 30ml. Expect to recoil/rewick almost daily as you either get better or become more fussy about the quality of your vape. Believe me, once you get your builds perfected you won't understand how as a lesser mortal you vaped with even the hint of singed cotton. And for those moments that you just don't want to see the person on the other side of the room or for lashings of flavour use a well coiled dripper.

There's no magic formula i'm afraid, if you're going to use sub ohm tanks you're going to get through a lot more juice like others have said i also tend to DIY my juice most of the time and occasionally shell out on some store bought stuff. I would also say move onto RBA's and save money on stock heads, the OBS Crius is a nice tank, easy to build on, dual coil so great flavour, not fussy to wick. If you don't want to make the coils yourself you could just buy a pack of ready made coils from FT for RBA's/RDA's.
