It`s a long read, over 100 pages but I`m liking that "not ban cross border sales", also "Adopt transition periods in TPD2, allowing the sell-through of old stock until 20 May 2017", early days though Stock up vendors

Having read a lot of it, it looks like a well balanced response with a lot of consideration given to the ecig market. Little creedance has been given to the various scare stories that have multiplied since the TPD was put under consultation. IMO they have shown a lot of consideration and understanding as regards ecigs. Pretty positive really and much better than many expected.

Common sense prevailing at last, surely they must now be starting to see the benefits of vaping and the sheer volume of folk that are managing to quit tobacco! This can only be good not only for the vaper, but also the NHS in the long run as the occurance of smoking related disease starts to dwindle.

There are a few references in it to "ecigs being safer"

A bit of a dry read, but the outcome is only what would be expected with the questions being asked, and the limited scope to materially change the regulations in favour of less damaging impact on e cigarettes. TPD leaves very little scope to change the rules by individual states. That's the main issue, and one we will have no choice but to live with come May, or at the latest May 2017.

The one glimmer of hope is there seems to be more good information being released with general acceptance that E cigs are a far better alternative. The antz and the media have tried so many times repeating the same old stories that did not hold up to scrutiny, and if anything have made themselves look pretty foolish imo.

so the response seems to indicate that non nicotine equipment and juice will not be covered by the TPD, which in turn would suggest that so long as you state "nic free" or "not for use with products containing nicotine" on reviews or products there will be zero restrictions once the TPD is implemented ....which in turn would infer that so long as the banner on the page was changed to indicate that we are a nic free web group and that mixology was hidden as a mixers department only subgroup very little would need ot change if at all.....
damn that's some harsh product picture changes though (adding a watermark to every product image "this device is not for use with nicotine products") to effectively side step the TPD
it seems like far from complying with the TPD the uk government is side stepping 90% of its intended implications, that's some fancy politicking right there.

Ollie from everythingliquid summed it up quite nicely on a FB post I just read. Hopefully he won't mind me reposting it here.

What's still to be detailed: Refill mechanisms, this impacts both on bottles and tanks, which can only be 2ml max. As that's still under discussion it's hard to know. They did release two options, one is pretty much the standard needle tip style bottle, the other A docking mechanism. Then there is mods, still no clarity on consistent dose verification process. This could go many ways, It may mean the end of power control, it will end mechs.
Trying to get devices round the zero nic element looks like a non starter as they use a catch all Phrase, "can be used" which means it's up to them to decide if something Is in or out, not anyone in the trade.
Then there is the little problem of increased harmonisation across Europe, which will mean our small Advantages over the rest of Europe will be temporary.
