As most of you know....I am now the proud owner of a sub-ohm set-up.

I have never done this before...but set it up, filled it with juice...took a tote...after coughing up some lung lining...I'm thinking do I need to drop my nic...at the moment I vape 12mgs...what should I go down to...

Also with a 0.5 coil, what wattage would you recommend?

Welcome to the Sub Ohm World

I used to vape 18mg pre-sub ohm but I find that 3mg is enough for me using a sub-ohm set up, i'd suggest you start there and see how you go.

Is your new shiney a Temperature Controlled device? Do you know if you're using Kanthal or nickle coils or even Tiatanium?

I have just put a new 0.5 ohm Kanthal coil in my TC iStick 60w and am currently on 20 watts I started at 12 watts and upped it until I got the results I was looking for.

I would halve your nic, I mix some zero nic then dilute the hard stuff with that to find what I like and it it still well steeped. Wattage: whatever you want, maybe 20-30 W to kick off, but the mods will probably have a min wattage with 0.5 ohm unless they do step down.

I would say 6mg would be a good place to be gill2009.
Also the sub ohm tanks do prefer juices with a higher VG content too.

I went from 12mg to 6mg Gill and find it still satisfies me and yep if it's not TC then kanthal is right altho I think stainless steel can also be used non TC but I'm sure some of the more techy folks will correct me if I'm wrong

Yes non TC you can use Kanthal, Nichrome or Stainless Steel (DNAs will do Nickel but most China mods won't work properly out of TC mode with nickel).

Well I vape 12mg 0.5ohm at anywhere between 28 - 33w, MTL so this makes the intake better. I dont DL

I just got a Clapton/Clacton (??) coil in my weeny cyclone. Was a very tight fit. I make no apologies for hijacking this thread cos I'm that chuffed with myself! 0.2 ohms on 6mg cloud no4 with a bit of unicorn blood. Its right good!
