Had a few problems with my wismec cricket, using a clone velocity with 3mm 10 wrap claptons running at 6.ohms. Put the build on another mod tweak the build both coils glowing from centre out evenly, pop them on the wismec quick fire everything ok, wicked and juiced the coil. hit the fire button and 1 of the coil just popped this is the 2nd time, have now built a 3rd set and these seem to be ok but can't work out what was wrong with the 1st set.

I have a similar build in my cricket ony difference is Atty, I'm using the twisted messes. My guess is its shorting out. Can you post a pic of the bottom of senterpin on rda? Being a hybrid connection it needs to protrude a good 2mm to be safe.

Bad atty and bad connection has caused your issue. Always re tighten you post screws once you've bedded your coils in, they some times come loose with the heat of glowing them without wicks or juice.

Sounds like it could be a short to me, make sure the coil isn't hitting a post or any little bit of wire from the opposite coil legs. If it shorts it drastically reduces the ohms and will fire very fast, get to hot to quick, hot spot then break.

Maybe I am not use too doing big builds normal only 5 to 6 wraps, the 1st time it happen on 26g kanthal, then on the 10 wrap clapton, now the build I have in seem ok have used it last night and today and no problems
