Hi all....
Just had a thought (I marked it I the diary, don't worry!) that if most leaking from attys is caused by liquid dripping down into air hole well and seeping out, why don't manufacturs put a fine gauze over the airholes below coils? Surely this would allow air to still be drawn through, but the thicker viscosity of the liquid would stop it from going down and eventually be reabsorbed by the wick..........wouldn't it????
Just an idea

I suspect it'll come down to one of two things: 1) Disruption of airflow. 2) Money - I suspect that it is this

The much increased complexity in machining and assembly would mean much greater costs which would result in higher prices for the atties and thus impact on sales.

My Vulcan Vector came with a gauze fitted in the base of the "mouthpiece". It gets full of juice right quick. Seems most owners poke the gauze out and never think of it again. That is what I did. cheers I

i suspect a fine enough gauze to damn the flow of anything other than hi vg juice would obscure 50% or greater of the area of any air intake vents.. great for the MTL fans. though you could start ebaying 5mm x 70mm strips of SS mesh to wrap round and secure with a vape band to see if the idea catches on What i expect to see arriving on the market over the next 6-12months is more tank attys with a sealed cup style of leak proofing with the air in coming from the top ports and not the bottom. But thats got nowt to do with the OP so i shall get me coat
