In the name of science I've just carried out a controlled experiment. I downed a bottle of 12 year old Glenfiddich followed by three cups of Aldi value coffee. I can confirm that I'm feeling......pished.

It was the coffee, you just don't know what these discounters put in their products to make them so cheap

I have to confess that I have a rather expensive coffee machine which makes the Costa ones look like mere toys. I'm a coffee snob. The name Costa(lot) is apt.

I take it you've visited Relish in Wadebridge? Easily the best coffee I've had outside of London. Sent from my X5pro using proboards

I have to confess that I have a rather expensive coffee machine which makes the Costa ones look like mere toys. I'm a coffee snob. The name Costa(lot) is apt. my coffee machine cost about €45 14 years ago when I lived in Germany, the annoying thing about it is you cant get spares because its never been sold in the UK, you put the beans in the top and water in the feeder next to it and push the button on the front wait 5 minutes (or set to to wake you up in the morning) I bought it back then because the only instant coffee I could afford was the cart noir stuff and its was gouting, however vacu packed coffee beans in Germany were cheaper than instant, when we moved back to the uk I started ordering all sorts of stuff from a webpage for the aforementioned coffe warehouse and despite it now being cheaper to buy kenco I stil use it regularly (at least more often than I drink booze) but I think I have a kg each of blue mountain Nairobi jamacan and a chocolate prailene flavour (almond/hazelnut mix) but I think the supplier screwed up on the last one since its been coming out burnt tasting ..... I wouldn't call myself a snob though but I do know what coffee I like and how I like it, of course when out and about i'll pretty much drink whatever's cheapest I don't do all that nonsense that seems to pervade the coffeshops unles there the only option.... I did at one time have a bean roasting machine but it seems you cant get the raw beans very easily any more so I sold it on ebay to some mug for more than I spent on it despite the thing being over a decade old and well used lol
