has anyone thought about it might be crap juice in the first place so no matter what its put in it will still be naff. or vapours tongue. how much difference does the rba make with the same juice. I can assure u it's not crisp juice. It tastes awesome when I use the rba. But for handiness sake I wanted to find a good sub ohm tank with descent coils that I can use when I don't have time or can't be arsed building a coil

Any of the sub ohm tanks I buy with stock coils always taste like crap. I hear people raving about them on forums and Facebook and think maybe this new tank will be different. But it never is!! I've tried all of the various kanger Subtank stock coils. The Uwell crown stock coils (dual and tc) After hearing all the hype about the cleito tank coils I thought I'd give them a go. But still the same crappy taste!!! Even with 1 of the new 5 pack of coils I bought. Unimpressed with all of stock coils I've tried. The flavour I get is very muted and at times unpleasant. I always make sure the coils are well primed and left for a while to soak up plenty of juice. But never makes any difference. So back to the trusty RBA sections. Am I just too fussy or anyone else find this??? are you changing flavours around between tanks ? I found everything tasted "off" months ago when I wasn't getting any flavour out of my kit unti I popped some double strength menthol into a tank and blew my tastebuds away with it, following on everything else tasted much better than it had done before hand. and yes I have found a few crap coils (on average 2 out of 5 is defective no matter where you buy them from) I tended to swap coils with flavours in the early days so I went through 3 packs of stock coils within a week (lots of reseaable plastic bags labled for each one) and that added to them starting to taste poorly quickly, another thing I found was the coils all had a different sweet spot, now I am using rba's 90% of the time, but I need ot change the favours rrunnign through the tank regularly if I leave the wick in for more than a couple of days Hi yes I use a variety of different flavours. From fruity go custards to creamy vapes. All the same in the stock coils. But always use new coils when changing flavours

The TFV4 Triple heads are the best i've had. Not really a fan of premade heads but those are good, 99% of the time i will just use the RBA option though on any tank. calnorth with regards the popping try a tighter wick that seems to reduce any popping for me. It's a bit of an art finding that sweetspot where you don't get the popping but you're also not choking the flow of juice, but a tighter wick does reduce that popping. This is really just supposition on my part but i think when you have a looser wick you get areas where there is a very slight gap bewteen the wire and the cotton, a layer of liquid pools in those gaps and when you fire the coil that liquid boils, expands and pops. I've used the tfv4 stock coils. Again found them muted. I guess my problem is I'm not letting the coils break in. As I said in previous post want aware it took so long to break in a coil. Either gonna have to have a bit of patience with stock coils. Or just stick with the rba's

Give the crown coils a chance to bed in. It takes a few tanks to get them to their best but once they are broken in the flavour is great. I would go as far as saying probably one of the best flavours from a sub ohm tank Cheers. Still have some of the stock Uwell crowns lying about. I'll give them another go and allow them to break in. The crown is one of my fav tanks atm.

My personal favourite is the 0.25 head

Whilst not technically a 'Stock Coil' the Footoon Aqua Fx does do pre-made coils - with the benefit of a fresh ceramic cup and extra clips to use to rebuild yourself after. With a spare complete head - you can carry it with you and then just pop it in like you would a stock coil and then rebuild when thee want or 'can be arsed'. Whilst it's a bit different to build it gets a lot easier with practice - also is top-fill and gives a 3ml or comes with a 5ml extension. Might be worth a look

Cheers. I'll stick an Isub in my basket next time I'm ordering. How low in wattage do u start to break any of the stock coils in? These cleito tanks recommend 40-60 watts. Any lower than 30 and there's hardly any vaper outta it At least 5-10watts lower than I eventually end up finding a nice vape for me xtc263 . . . . Generally I'll run a tank full first, then up the oomphage after that.

In fact they are all the same, quads, triples, claptons. overall I think the TFV4 is a doozy unless you use the RBAs.

I thought I posted in this thread, I must have forgot!
I was going to say that I'm surprised you dislike the cleito coils because I found them to have a pretty clean flavour compared to most stock coils I've tried. It has other issues though. Spitting even on some pretty thick eliquid. (80VG)

Actually I prefer the stock coils for my subtanks over the RBA - I just can't seem to get the wicking right for the RBA and its too much of a faff as I'm rewicking pretty much daily whereas with a stock coil they last me at least 10 days and sometimes a fair bit longer depending on what juice is in the tank. I was using the horizontal OCC coils but the last 2 packs I bought I was sent the VOCC coils which do seem to last longer than the horizontal coils but the trade off is some spitting whilst it "beds in" which can pack a bit of a sting now and again. I tend to start the stock coils at 10w and then up the power as the flavour drops off usually ending up somewhere between 16w and 20w after about 24 hours of use which is where it stays until I replace them. I do sometimes recoil the stock heads with my own coils which has worked pretty well but to be honest a pack of 5 stock coils has only been costing me around £7 which lasts me a couple of months per tank so is pretty reasonable to just forgo the faffing.

After a few hrs use on the cleito coil I'm finally getn a nice flavour!!! If only I'd posted this thread mths ago lol!!! So think my problems solved. I'll try it next on my Uwell crown coils. Thanks everyone. Ur a great bunch!!!
Just hope the coil lasts a while. With the juice I'm using ( strawberry and cream glazed donut) I'm having to rebuild the rba head everyday

Kanger premade coils have always been junk
I still use protank 2´s Any authentic coils were always hit and miss with what was on the box to what they read on a mod
The premade coils from ft for rebuilds are always the same resistance to what it says on the packet

The Crown stock coils give me the best flavoured vape out of any I have tried so far, very close to dripper experience once a tank has been through them. The TFV4 (either quads or triples) whilst they provide plenty of clouds, they are muted in flavour for me.
My poor Subtanks are now relegated to sitting in the vape cupboard awaiting Armageddon.
