This apparently is ground-breaking research? Like another research bunch I know of that gets down to rent seeking largely.

I saw this on Twitter yesterday and the subsequent debunking etc.
Serious question for the scientifically minded; do the genes of a mouse have commonalities with those of humans? Is research on gene mutation in mice a good benchmark for humans?

Call me sceptical, but what they appear to have found is bulldung. The article and their findings prove what they wanted to prove. It was biased from the start, so yet more crap coming out with the disney science tag on. Even if there is a shred of truth in it, the fact remains that e cigs are better than tobacco. So given the choice I'm still on the side of e cigs, even though I'm not trying to get pregnant.

Is Dudley news in Dudley, West Midlands?

Strike a light - there must be millions of children born to smokers here (black country) since the 16th century.

Telling them not to vape when pregnant is a poor effort and will undoubtedly convince many that smoking is no worse.

These muppets (the newspaper) are so stupid, they don't know the damage they are doing. Go to Dudley (I do, sometimes) and ask the smokers what they think about Vaping and most will tell you it's worse than tobacco.

So - thanks Dudley news. Well done in continuing to convince your readership they may as well stay on the tabs.

what I didn't like was that e-cigarettes were used for 'those who lacked the willpower to quit via other methods' - so going psychotic due to nicotine withdrawal et al is due to 'willpower'

whats more worrying about it isn't that some supposed do-gooder Dr has done a study that hasn't even been submitted for publication, that failed to do a comparative study against nrt/tobacco and as such is just an unsubstantiated rant by a lone individual about the dangers of shadows .....

E-cigarette exposure was also associated with greater "vertical time" - how much time the mice spent rearing on two legs, which is linked to exploratory behaviour and curiosity.
In other words it smells nicer.

I think the problem is wider. These are our old local papers and of late I have not read them much, too easy to skim online. They are delivered to the door regularly...totally free. They are now in the hands of VI's from the USA. I think the print versions have to be sponsored to some extent by local traders, so at their expense these junk articles are being inserted. Thats propaganda I'm sure?

Too many external VI's are influencing this country. The use of language in the article is bad and very threatening.
