Damp newspaper method:- Bowl of hot water with a dash of white vinegar. Rubber gloves, unless you want print on your fingers for the next 48 hours. Old newpaper. Take one sheet of newspaper, scrunch into a loose ball, quickly dip in the water and rub all over the glass area, avoiding any light coloured emulsion paint which will stain. Use a fresh sheet of newspaper to wipe off the excess water and polish to a brilliant, streak-free finish. Use this slightly damp sheet, dipped in the water, to start the process on the next pane of glass. Finish off, and sit down with your favourite hot beverage, vape and sunglasses to protect your eyes from the glare. chykensa - forget all that, I have the perfect solution: 1. Move to Tenerife 2. All windows and patio doors are left open all year round 3. No need to wash VG off glass

Exactly what I do Andy . . . . and to the inside of my car windows as they also suffer a similar fate. I tend to have a glass of wine on the go Saturday afternoon whilst I'm on my window cleaning mission - it doesn't make surfaces any cleaner or brighter, but it does help make the process less tedious for me!

The paper is too wet, and not on the glass long enough I guess. Don't know what the chemistry behind it is, but I use this method on all glass, including my van, and it works a treat, with no smears or residue. No other proprietary cleaner, even Windolene, comes close. The glass is too smooth to enable transfer of the ink;) Acetic acid is the active ingredient in vinegar (distilled, not the brown stuff) and plows through grease and grime very well. The type of wiping cloth is unimportant as long as it doesn't have lint in it. Streaks are generally left by the residues in commercial products such as the chemicals used to make it smell nice.

Well, if anyone was going to answer that plea for chemistrious explanation, it would be *-SARIN-*! Thanks Simon, I suspected that it would be the vinegar, although on occasion I have used the same method without acetic acid and have got the same results.

The more someone tells me not to do something, the more likely I am to do it. (not including safety issues, of course). I'm off to vape some 100% PG Liberty Flights liquid (free, of course... wouldn't buy their crap) at 50 watts. I won't see the vapour, but I don't care. - - - The higher the power, the more VG makes sense, but it's not like compulsory.

Took your advice and mixed up some juice with higher VG - one at 70% and one at 60%. Haven't been out since, can't find the door! I Think I'll stick to around 60%, seems to work for me. Once again, thanks for the help.
